    Stan:
If you ever decide to use Peco turnouts with Atlas flex track, don't nail within 6" of the turnout. The ties on Peco turnouts are thicker than the flex track ties. Nailing the flex track down flush at each end of the Peco turnout wil cause it to bow up in the middle as Rossford Yard stated. I know, it has happened to me.

I have used Elmers glue on my code 55 layout. I have nailed in the past on previous layouts and will NEVER do it again. I remember my past track problems were mostly related to pounding the nails too hard causing the gauge of the track to change and then, because I am not perfect or I decide a change is in order, I remember fighting with the damn nails because they won't pull free. They finally came free along with the track that was then destroyed. For me, using nails with track is a derailment waiting to happen....

Using Elmers glue and a few pins to hold the track in place while the glue sets up works well for me. I also weight the track down with KATO locos in their plastic containers so that the track lays nice and flat. Afterwards, when I make those changes all I do is spray the track with a little water and after a couple of minutes everything comes up with very little effort and no damage to the affected track.

Mike Hagarty (sp?) used a contact cement on his layout, to lay both track and cork roadbed. He likes it, and I will try it.
