Wow! It's been 11 months since I posted here about my layout, time flies! Lots has been added to the layout and the layout has moved to boot. We moved to Fairport, NY (where I started in Z back in 1999) and bought a house there on June 27th. My train room is twice the size as the one I had in Woodbridge, VA but there is a lot we are doing to set up our new house so the trains and train room are the last priority. Maybe a few more months and I'll get back to it. Just wanted to let you know I am still alive and moving down the rails.

Hey, my friend, I was wondering the other day what are you up to. Looks like the corporate life has a grip on you. Looking forward to get some updates from you!

So after closing on our house on June 27th 2014 my job was eliminated due to a reorganization on July 14th 2014 and I was out of work. What a kick in the head. Since then I have not had much desire to work on my layout, finding a job took top priority. I finally landed a new job on January 5th 2015 and just tonight I started to get my train room organized – there is still a lot to do. It’s been frustrating not being able to work on it but job hunting took all of my time. Hopefully by June I will be back at the layout and giving y'all some great updates.

Glad to hear John. Looking for a job is one of the most stressful things in life.

And I am sorry that you are no longer in Virginia, darnit. Hope the new job works well for you, and you can get back to a somewhat normal existence again.

    As Arnold said "I'm back!"

Prior to moving from Woodbridge, VA to Fairport, NY I completed the Calvary Cemetery portion of my layout. Calvary Cemetery is one of those places that I remember from my youth and is right near the area I am modeling Newtown Creek and Dutch Kills.

    http://forgotten-ny.com/2011/12/calvary-cemetery/

I tried to do Calvary Cemetery justice as much as I could in such a small part of my layout. I'll post some more info on where I came up with the items in the cemetery to include the inedible Osage Orange lying on the ground.

    Enjoy!

    John

Very nice and I really enjoy the structures. The gate on the mausoleum is very good.

Awesome!! Did you John submit your layout to Model Railroader? They couldn't do any Z-scale bashing anymore with it... ;)
