Maybe my problem is using eBay shipping, which requires using a shipping label much bigger than MTL jewel case, and says should not be folded across the bar code.
I once felt the same way but I have since purchased over 100 items and have never encountered anything shady. Most sellers are very protective of their ratings and strive to satisfy any buyer that feels he has been misled. I stick with the sellers with 100% ratings or close to it. I also look over the pictures very closely and read the seller's product description. If that fails there is always the guarantee to fall back on.
eBays standard shipping label is very large. But you typically have control over the size when you print. Almost always I scale the label down to at least 80%, or even small, depending on the size of the item/box being shipped.
My experiences with eBay have paralleled Inkaneer's and so far all have been very good. I don't buy from anyone with less than 99.6% positive rating, no matter what the item is. I'll wait till I can get it from a highly rated seller at a reasonable price. If the picture is bad, I figure the item is too. I don't tend to waste my hobby dollars on anything questionable.........I make them count! So, if you're selling and want my money.........you better have a good item, at a good price, with good pictures..........and don't try to rip me off with an unreasonable shipping charge! All that said, if you get too stupid with your item(s) for sale, you will end up with some extra exposure on here!
Another funny, at least he's not asking an arm and a leg for it. Item condition: Used “Barely used with no abuse. (see pictures)” http://www.ebay.com/itm/Arnold-Rapi...345?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item280412ea59
It is OK, according to a postal worker I spoke to, to fold the label, say, over the edge of a box, as long as the barcode isn't in the fold. I'd be mindful of where the fold is, though. Meanwhile, eBay seems to have changed the orientation of the shipping labels, so that they are printing smaller... although almost too small for my preference. They can be scaled up or down using your printer's properties. There are more good sellers than poor sellers out there. Otherwise I don't think eBay would have survived this long.
N scale what? http://www.ebay.com/itm/N-SCALE-KLIT-BASHERS-DREAM-/261986359533 You know, a..."KIT BASHERS REAM"
Some sprues look empty. Some have a few parts still on them. Cant really tell on those 'crystal clear' pics
Typical "gotcha" on evilbait. Photos so dark you can't see anything...four shots all basically the same.....is that an un-made bed?.....focus sux...and if they're interested in selling their leftover bits for a BIN of 20 and 10 shipping, spread them out on a good surface, take good, bright, focused shots. But that takes time, and that's why the seller isn't a "powerseller", one would guess. "KABRI BUILDING ALMOST COMPLEAT WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR MAY BE HERE" May be...but I ain't looking for compleat Kabri stuff. And with those photos, "WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR MAY BE HERE" doesn't apply.
Every one of those I have seen have some distortion and bowing. Something about the plastic used back when. I had some that distorted, not to that extreme however, and mine where stored in a air conditioned environment. Not worth anything but for laying in the canyon at the foot of a trestle with some other scrap.
Even with enlarging the picture I could not tell what I would be getting if I was stupid enough to buy whatever it is. Fill flash on the camera or a brightness adjustment on the photo editing might reveal something. The box is Kibri but what was it? Can't tell from the photo.
I have one-- somewhere-- that isn't warped, however, I utilized it to practice using silver spray paint!
Kato track for sale... or at least, a list of Kato track for sale... http://www.ebay.com/itm/KATO-GRAY-TRACK-USED-/141728511858?hash=item20ffad7772
