Here's a nice little set I've been working on.

Even though the Rio Grande never had E units, looks pretty sharp!
    Guessing dome is in progress?

Thanks. The dome is finished but I wanted to show the painted seats. It's one of the small details you won't notice unless you look close but I thought it made a difference.

Any plans to add bodies to the dome?
    May never see 'em, but.....

That would be a nice touch. I'll let the owner of the set decide that option.

    Very nice work indeed. ;)

However, is the difference of alignment yellow/silver between locomotive and cars prototypical?

I did that a few years ago on several MTL Great Northern dome cars. The only warning to anyone considering it is that the seat heights are too short for the lower legs of to-scale passengers (such as from Preiser). Unaltered, the passengers end up with their knees in their chests (if they could). As lowering the floor is pretty hard to do, my indelicate solution was to remove the passengers' feet (ouch! ;-) ).

Too bad MTL didn't make more of the smooth sides. We'd have some more relevant passenger cars for today's locos. They even have the Marsillius body's too!

The original plan was to do the 4 black stripes. The silver didn't line up on the prototype. I changed it to the single stripe because I thought it looked better. Everything was painted and I didn't want to repainted it. Mtl plastic on these cars doesn't take paint well.
