We haven't done anything yet, is there anything you would like to see? We are actually thinking about moving away from making mainstream decals all together, unless there was a specific demand.

I was thinking of our main focus being military decals (aircraft, armor and ships) and doing some short lines and class 2 and 3 railroads, but when it comes to the railroad market, offering more services instead, like custom models, conversions, basically, anything somebody doesn't feel comfortable doing themselves, we will offer to do for them.

Hi, sorry I'm getting into this a little late. I was very interested in the Amtrak sheet on the first page. How is the agreement with Amtrak going?

Also, would you be doing these sets in HO as well?

One more thing- would you consider adding some artwork for Amtrak's business cars (10001, 10002, etc.) to this sheet? I could provide you with reference photos, and I think it would be a big selling point.

    Thanks!

i just went thru all the posts. interesting. but nothing else than vaporware.

you try to sign license agreements with class 1 railroads but you point out in every second post that clas 2 or 3 will be in your focus. then, the last post, you mention primarily military decals and custom painting.

there's quite a bit of enthusiasm in your posts but i don't see a real plan. seems like you just jump from one idea to the other. taking about railroad companies that might result in less than 10 sheets of sold decals.

but the main question is still unanswered : who and how will you print your decals ? if you want screen printing then there's quite a bit of money involved. you pretty soon will find out that there's most likely no way to even cover your costs. been there done that.

if you want small custom runs then do the art work and ask microscale for printing.

I just wanted to let everyone know that the Sabrestar Decals site has gone live. If you click that link you will see that our retail decals are all of military subjects. After lots of research, we have concluded that we most likely can not compete with Microscale in Railroad decals, but we are willing to offer custom painting and custom made decals for the model railroad community. We plan on having Microscale print our main runs, and our limited runs will be done by Fantasy Printshop, in the UK, so both options will be silk screened. I understand that we are doing is not profitable, but this is one our source of income. My business partner and I both have day jobs, so this venture is just an extension of our hobby, we plan on just doing it for fun.

I was wondering how up you'd be for SP&S decals(steam and passenger car decals) if not those then PSAP decals.

I'd still like to see Amtrak Cabbage car decals. Phase V obviously, but maybe IV and III as well? Just an idea, but I've got one in the works.

OK, you basically asked for this. Here's my list !!! EJ&E "Belt Logo", LSBC, KBS, SD&IV, and the BN commuter cars that you had mentioned. Also, VS-41 S3B "Viking" from late '90s. Worked on those for 3 1/2 years. Possibly USS Constellation (CV-64). Boarded it once by accident. I was supposed to be on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63), parked 1/2 mile away at PNSY !!! ( 18 hrs. of boozin' in the park, THAT'S why !!!) Even if you can't do my stuff, I hope everything is successful !!!

Please look at the dates of these posts. This thread was originally started back in Feb. 2013 with a last entry in June 2013 before being resurrected in May 2017. The OP listed an Email address on June 26, 2013. Good possibility the outfit is no longer around. Send an Email to find out. The OP is still active on TB.

Yes. He is still active. His most recent visit less than a week ago. His web site is still up and going. Just no decals advertised that I can see, at a quick glance.

It does not matter the date, any topic still open, (which almost all are so), is available to post. We have seen them from as far back as 2000-2001, become active again and add to someone's experiences in this hobby. If someone wants to post, they are still relevant.

Hey guys, been a long time. Yeah, the decal business never really materialized because I couldn't find a printer. I would love to get back into things though, once Out of the Box models makes more money, and I can buy a laser printer, and a white toner cartridge from Ghost White. But that wont be for a while. Sorry.
