If it wasn't for the obvious Kadees, I'd swear that was a prototype photo.

And that ain't weathered, that's distressed!;)

Yikes. That car must have run a couple of million miles! A scrap yard escapee!

That boxcar looks like it has been riddled with machine gun fire, leading to rust running down from the dents! Amazing work!

Nice work with the rust! What technique did you use? It looks like the method where one would put a small(very small) drop of CA and put rust powder chalk on it. Gives it the "3D" effect. Again, very nice! JMS

I used acrylic color and rust powder. CA is a good idea, I wll give it a try next time.

I changed the coupler at the front of my FVM GP60M. I inserted one with a long shank and now I'm able to couple with cars without cutting their trip pin.

For your layout, I would recommend changing the GP60M to a BNSF loco. The Santa Fe only used them as mainline locomotives, the BNSF uses them for locals

That NYC auto parts car looks like crap!!!!!
Which, in this case, is meant as a compliment. In Texas, railroaders would have described that car as being rode hard & put up wet.
I like the overall effect you're pulling off, and the fact that there are no shiny new freight cars anywhere I see- even the newer ones have a patina of dust & road grime.

Good job portraying light weathering on the box car roof.
