I model today - so ya gotta have a crude train. Of course no one has a crude tanker, so you make do. But Craig Martyn's giving us a Christmas present, so that'll change.

TrainDork - here's the text of the DI notice on their home page:

We are aware that some of the Maxi-IV in this run have a problem rolling well, especially in curves. We are researching this and believe we have isolated the problem. We are working on a "Fix Kit" do distribute free of charge to any customers that experience this problem. Check back for more information soon.

    Once again, super customer service.

Long time between updates - but I have been working on the railroad, a bit each day as is my habit. A long term project is catching up on FVM's production with the eventual goal of eliminating most of my Katos. This shot shows some of the locos I've recently added:

    Image not showing up.......

So Jim, why are you dumping Kato locomotives?

Just like FVM better - the stand alone details, the more basic mechanism. And the slower speed motor...

Image isn't showing up?? Shows for me...did it the way I always do it...

(not David...) BTW, don't appreciate the auto editing of a certain statement I tried to make...

I don't see the image, either, just a grey circle with a line in it. Inspecting the element, all I see different from prior photos is it is posted at "lh3.googleusercontent..." vs "lh4.googleusercontent...." Not sure what is blocking us from seeing it.

I don't see it, either. The problem may be where he has these uploaded.

Aw, Geez! I put them on Google, where I've kept all my pix since Flikr decided to try to charge me...they're in the same library, same everything, but now that you mention it the URL seemed a bit long. What I have done is post first to Weekend Update (the old Atlas board's SNFF) on TRW, then after being able to see them in a preview, I copy the test and post here. That's been working for the last couple years - maybe the latest update either here or Google messed something up...if one of you guys can take a look over on TRW and let me know if you can see them...TIA

Jim, same exact problem on TRW with your photo. I can see your older photos fine, but something very weird with this one. Is there a change in default permissions on upload to your Google account?

    Thanks, Rick

No changes of which I am aware, but like everyone else they are continually changing...maybe it's time to go back to Flickr or Photobucket, I think they've all relaxed their storage limits...

I'll ask for help again when I get a new host.

Jim, why not simply upload the image to the thread directly via the Image tag provided in each post. That what I do with my images and don't rely on an outside service.

With the new software, it is even easier: just click on "upload a file" and you can embed a photo that way.

Well, that worked - I think. Can you see me now? (Thanks, Rick!) [Need to do something about that fence...]

Glennac - I like having my images all in one place - at least those I've shared...just a preferance, but at least I can find one when I need it.

Yes, very strange why the new link wasn't working (I can't get to it, even directly).

I would keep the fence as is! Having a couple leaning fence posts... very realistic

I direct loaded this one, and over on TRW I uploaded to Flikr and used their URL...hopefully it worked...

I think Google has done something strange...wish they'd quit messing with us.

Also the acronym I was attempting to use was whiskey tango foxtrot - it was auto edited to woo woo woo - not at all the same IMO. Maybe getting a bit too PC...

    Appreciate the feed back, gents.

I've looked at the Google link, and it exceeds the length of the field in the path, such that the actual file name is cut off of it.

    There is always: :confused::confused::confused:
