Only my opinion, but if you build it, I'll buy at least one. I'm not that particular, and I'll run it on my layout whether it's 1950's or 1990. If it's a way to support Trainboard, all the better.

If you want to sell out of something the car needs to be able to cross several 'eras' and not be road specific.

Aristo did a beautiful steel reefer car in G scale which hasn't been done in N scale. It is a 40' steel ice reefer decorated for Ballantine Beer. The sides were Dark Blue side w/ oxide red roof & sides: with Yellow Graphics (the Ballantine 3 circles 'purity', 'body, 'flavor') and the slogan "With a flavor that the chill can't kill"; dim data was in white. P. Ballantine & Sons of Newark New Jersey had 10 such reefers with ARA letters PBSX in the 46XXX series. I don't recall when they cars were put into service but they lasted into the 1970's.

Ok folks. Tonight or tomorrow we will post another poll for you. We have narrowed the field to two specific cars. This does not mean that any other suggestions were thrown out. If this is successful this could become something that we will repeat at frequent intervals. When we do announce what the car will be, we will begin accepting pre-orders.

    Just an FYI.

Why not a 50' box car (preferred by me) with the high break wheel and ladders, but have the roof as a car with out a roof walk would be.
Include the roof walk as a separate piece that can be glued on to the top or left off as needed by the purchaser.
This way I could use it on my late 1990s layout as I have lots of nice 40' box cars that are packed away that I don't have any use for so another is not in my future.

I like your idea and while it will not be used this time, we will consider something like this in the future.
