BNSF's former Santa Fe main through Oklahoma and north Texas has been hit by a one-two punch of a derailment at Haslet, TX (north of Ft. Worth, and the site of the Alliance Intermodal yard) and a washout resulting in a wreck at Gainesville, TX. Traffic between Kansas City that normally ran on this sub is being rerouted on the former Frisco Ft. Scott, Afton, Cherokee and Creek Subdivisions via Ft. Scott, Tulsa, and Sherman. The Heartland Flyer, Amtrak's OKC/FTW train, has been terminating at Gainesville, with passengers being shuttled by buses from there south to Ft. Worth.

The area has been hit by an overabundance of rain the past week, which has caused flooding in low-lying areas as well as road and rail closures. Even the Arkansas-Oklahoma Railroad has suffered a partial washout on its ex-Rock Island line west of Shawnee, as the North Canadian River has been eating away at the AOK's right of way.

Is this the line which had in recent years been rebuilt and re-opened?
