Hi all, haven't been around much but I do look in from time to time. Always a great WPF. This weekend is great as well. I have a couple of my newest addition to the roster, BLI F7 AB in Black Widow. I like the diaphragms, flexible and very close. I try and take a few more Sunday.
Bridge Construction I made my highway bridges from styrene and wire. They are about 24 inches (60 cm) long. First, I make the base. This structure will almost bend double as it has no other support. You can see the yard (meter) ruler supporting it at this time. Then paint and add the roadbed. It is still flimsy. The styrene truss added to the sides gives it strength. It will no longer bend at all after the truss is added. Completed truss, ready for cars.
Finished Highway Bridge Completed roadway bridge, New Braunfels, Avenue, crosses East Yard in San Antonio, Texas. Fun project. I was worried about how sturdy it would be. It is really surprising how rigid the light styrene truss is after completion. Just like the real thing!
