The little guys that get the job done! Some of the local ones I've found in Western Washington....... TEMCO, in Tacoma, Wa
This little gem is in Chehalis, Wa. It runs on former Milw Road, Chehalis Western, Tacoma Rail tracks from here to Maytown, Wa.
Stored in the same area is the former Simpson Railroad 1202 and the 1201. Hopefully they'll be put to better use and survive to see some more work on a local line.
An ugly pic from my cell phone of the former Curtis, Milburn, & Eastern, Chehalis Western C415 at the old CEECO, before it was stuff and mounted in a park in Fife, WA.
That's a good question. All I know is that the grain elevator is ran by TEMCO, but I thought they owned all the locos. I believe the SW "slug" is one of the ex-NP ones used at the Pasco hump along time ago.
And just about the only SW1500 around still working for a Class 1 railroad is BNSF 3439 at Balmer Yard, Seattle a couple months ago. Interesting place for the horn, eh??
Guess that's the same case for that poor ol' SD9, still wearing BNSF Heritage paintsheme, but missing center axle on both its trucks.... Dom
I wonder if that horn was moved there, (from atop cab roof?), when they installed the remote control equipment?
Took this a couple years ago on the 2015 BNSF Railway Special. 3606 on the Interbay turntable as the train rolled by....
Not sure if they posed it here, but it was nice to get this close to see the switcher and the roundhouse!!
