Not much work on THERR lately. I spent the summer...running trains ! Everytime I went out there to work on something I would turn the trains on. As usaul for me...it relaxes me enough I almost doze off. I did do something on my 'Police Station' A dedication/memorial to my Brother-in-Law Darrin Reed. Darrin was a police officer here in Show Low. He was murdered Nov 8, 2016 by a drug dealer. The flagpole itself is to memoralize my wifes grandmother who was 96 and died the day after Christmas in 2016. The flagpole is a sewing needle I found in grandmas old sewing kit. My wife said she remembers that sewing kit from when she was just a kid ! I still have to put 'floors' in a few buildings and add windows. Maybe I will do that inside at my desk this winter. For now...I'm going to go out and run trains for another hour or until my wife yells out that dinner is done.
Salute! To those who've lost their lives and the families they left behind. Nice touch with the flag. I like the building. Sewing needle. Who'd of thought? Just curious and on another note. Has anyone heard from Shades, since the last time he chimed in here?
To answer my own question in the post above I hate to bring this up. Especially in light of the conversation and discussion taking place here. I'm now able to answer my own question. After some research and help from several friends I learned that Shades has passed away. Salute, big guy. You will be missed. Remember we model railroaders don't pass away we simply move down the track to another destination. Now back to our regularly scheduled program. .
Very sorry to hear about Shades. He was an insiration and always ready to help others. He will be missed. Don
Thanks Brother in Law and Grandma where 2 of the greatest people in our family. They are both missed daily. With the anniversary of our Brother in Laws murder coming up Nov. 8th....my wife is reliving the nightmare all over again.
Hi buddy, have enjoyed reading about your new mobile layout. Would be fun going camping and running trains. My first locks were LL ones, I could afford them and they run nicely. I believe a guy should run what he wants on his own layout. Way to go. I was unable to download your pictures from my phone, have to try my computer.
Nice job on the Police Station George. Sorry about your losses, you do well to honor them on the layout!
I had time today to follow your build. Very impressive, and i know where your photos are now. Can't wait to come see your layout in person. I'm green with envy on your layout room. Sure nice to have a supportive wife. I have one and appreciate her.
Thanks Will se ya when you get up this way. THE Wife is beyond supportive....she has her own trains to run ! She has an excursion train and comes out and sits with me and we both run trains. She helped a lot on the demo and rebuild inside THERR too !
Wow, I've enjoyed reading your build thread. Your pictures are great. Now I know what an rv is good for. I've long considered a cargo trailer for a layout room. Be nice to just hook on to my layout and disappear. Sure appreciate your sharing your layout. Can't wait to visit.
Well....for some reason YouTube wont let me log into my old account....so I made a new one ! I have some videos to upload and have put one up there just to make sure its all working ok. Enjoy !!
