Great picture. The color is very flat and mostly brown. I think I will experiment with some colors on a section of old track
Candy, I us an old cheap paint brush with the bristles cut off short to spread the ballast, after that is done, the most important part is to take the brush by the bristles and smack the track lightly to knock the ballast off the sides of the rails and off the tops of the ties. It just makes it so much better and consider every car or loco kind of rattles the ballast on the prototype.
Good ideas ! I will make sure the ties and rails are cleaned first. Hope to show some results next week
Yer darn tootin'! Woke up to -20C up here in the Great White North, right after we got a good dump of snow Tuesday and Wednesday. Two weeks ago it was +10C! Could use a nice Alco 251 to warm up to... or fast forward to next summer...
