Filmed this a few weeks ago, just trying to get caught up on some of these videos. I got a new video editing program and it is quite a learning curve for me.
    Hope you enjoy.

Great video! Nice uncoupling action and smooth running Frisco power. All the great detailing and weathering make it fun to watch.

Thanks Jim, I always admire your modeling too. I am trying not to get into your era. That may be the end for me if Vicki found out LOL.
    Are you still in NYC?

Thanks Dale. Been watching your MRR progress too. Very interesting. I seem to always get some ideas from your posts.

    Hi Tom,

Glad to see you back, seems like you had been quiet for a bit. I figured you had been working. I saw the QA&P Depot in the video, it looks right at home. It’s funny where you find things for the layout some times. A friend gave me some metal barrels taken from used butane lighters. They are a scale 40 tp 50 feet long and about 4’ in diameter. If you open them and flatten them out they look like sheets of steel. They will end up as some kind of flat load one of these days.

You just never know where you will find something.

    The video was great!

Kinda late in posting these images but still some progress on the QA&P. These images were uploaded in sequence of the build or more accurately the scenicing.

This image shows the basic ground cover on this particular spot on the MRR.

Here are a few images of me inserting some rock molds given to me by Brian Morris. Brian and his dad David had a great MRR too. David passed and the outfit had to be torn out Brian was good enough to give a bunch of scratch built structures and some great rock molds. Here I am using cardboard and resin paper and sculptamold to blend into the surrounding base. Including my miserable excuse for backdrops painting, man I am not very good at it but the commercial ones are just sooo $$$$.

Now some trees that I made, some were made by other modelers I have known over the years, just a bunch of trees all mixed in.

I decided it needed a cabin, so I modify an old cheap plastic model that's been bouncing around in a box for decades, included some figures vehicles and even an ATV.

I need to chalk some shiny spots and rust areas. Nothing like photos to show what needs to be done.
    Thanks for stopping by.

I do hope this scene is not in my State. If so, that ATVer will soon hit a tree, or race off that cliff...!!! Yikes!

    Fantastic modeling, Tom. :)

Another SD40T-2 is being added to the roster. Still need to put on the handrails, Grab irons, Glazing (after weathering), wipers and a lighting kit.

Unless I find some more Athearn Blue Box TM's, it might be the last QA&P loco build for some time.
    Thanks for stopping by.

    Hey Tom,

You mentioned over on the POCR thread you liked my CSX hopper. How much? Could you find a home for one? I have 2 of them. They are Athearn RTR with metal wheels. I need to dirty up the second one. I’m sure I can get the graffiti master to put her personal touch on it. Would you want it that rusty or just dirty? Also, do you want the reflective safety stripes?

    Thanks,
    Dale

Love what you’ve done and what you’re planning on doing. Can’t wait to see the changes.

Oh and I didn’t see a passenger train when we were there either.

His layout is most awesome. I only hope to be at his level of stupendousness one of these days. I am a long ways off...at least to me I am...

Thanks for the comments guys I appreciate it very much.
Here is a QUAX hospital flat car, based on some images I have seen, this and old Blue Box Athearn 85 ft flat car. This one has the A-Line weights added and the operating end of car cushioning. Also removed the handbrake details and then added a DW hand brake and rigging from brass wire. I first painted the under frame flat black, then top of the car light grey, masked that off where I wanted, and then the car boxcar red, the appliances to hold the out of service car, moveable bolster mounts, and trucks were painted Chinese red. The B end of the flat has a rigid bolster mount while the bolster mount towards the A end was able to slide for and aft to accommodate different lengths of out of service cars to be carried. The images are a work in progress, and progress seems to be slow. The tank car was sacrificed for the load with a lot of cutting gouging and bending to simulate a side swipe, Some rust and yellow dry brushing were done. Still need to unload the flat do some weathering to the flat car and tank, then reload the tank, and tie it down.
Here is the progress so far.
