Followed all the bread crumbs and ended up on your web page, pleasantly surprised.

I've actually been looking for any way to get a Tk-G domestic water car for my work train, and this looks like a good way to do it.

I'm also impressed by the 'conversion kits' of various available parts for ATSF steam, that's a winner.

    Good luck to you!

Dirk, that's great, I'll second Randgust's best wishes, good luck to you.

I will be interested to see if your parts can make my life easier in finishing my own RSD-15 projects that have been waiting for time to complete. If my photo essay here on the build of a RSD-15 can be of any help to you in terms of ideas, please feel free to use what you wish, and keep me posted - it's all about sharing. http://www.pbase.com/atsf_arizona/n_scale_rsd15 ( Constructing N scale RSD-15 on Atlas B40-8 mechanism )

Would love to see more ATSF modelers have RSD-15's of any sort. Hope this picture my own hack job inspires people to look at your offerings, I trust your shells, side rails and details will produce even better results! :)

I have 8 more RSD-15's that I need to construct. Your parts might be a faster way to accomplish that, re-using my existing mechanisms.

All, go check out Dirk's website. The pictures of his completed works are really good models: http://atsfnscalemodels.com/photo's.html :) Be inspired, I certain am.

    Thanks!
The MOW version of the tank cars is certainly a nice addition...... see the Santa Fe Historical Society book Vol. 1. Work Equipment. By W.W. Childers.

    Hi John,

Thanks for the feedback and indeed it's all about sharing!
I read your article on your RSD-15 rebuild already some years ago and found it very interesting/useful.
I had 2 old Mehanotecknica RSD-15 shells my self at the time........
Problem was I could not locate C-628/630 trucks and ended up with this conversion.
Also could not locate enough shells so ended up making a new 3D shell.

The brass etching for all the handgrips, handrails is available as a seperate part (see my website).
Do not know if it will fit your shells.... length of long side sill is 109,4 mm.

    Good luck, Dirk

    Dirk,
    products look great!
interested in all (tank cars), but especially interested in the coach/partition/smoker cars...in resin...I have all the M&R sides I need, but any idea if your roof will fit on the new Microtrains Cars? (coaches)

    Hi Bruce,

Thanks and just let me know what you need. All 3 passenger car kits are available without the sides.
As for fitting the roof to Microtrains coaches I have no idea.... I don't have these cars.
I could ask friends overhere if one of them can lend me one to test fit, but that would take some time.
In the meantime the measurements of my 3Dprint and/or resin casting: length over center roof = 147,5 mm, width = 19,4 mm.
There is a 1,0 mm high strip 0,45 mm to the center of the roof to hold the brass side (leaving a very slight overhang of the roof).
Which means the inside distance between the brass sides is 18,5 mm. Is that information clear and sufficient?

    Regards, Dirk

Oh…. I am so happy you developed this….. and according to the Model Railroader Murphy's Law…. at least 3 other N scale manufactures will announce finally that they are also doing RSD 15's…….. sigh

    Thanks Otto,

There is more truth to that than you would suspect.... I was born on Boxing Day, December 26, 1953!
