Sad day for rail fans in Wisconsin. Bridge was just reopened in July after heavy flooding in 2008 caused it to be shut down!

Having been there before, it is very sad.

I am recalling this has happened previously. Is it time to think about moving everything to higher ground/new location? :(

Yeah, they never fully recovered from the last flood. Maybe a relocation would be in order.

It’s a shame, I have some fond memories of taking my girls there a few years back.

Reminiscent of the original Roanoke (VA) Transportation Museum location near the Roanoke River. A terrible 1985 flood decimated its excellent collection. Rather than rebuild and face a repeat disaster, they moved to a new location downtown. The new location is cramped, but they've done well with it and the collection is secure.
