I had this six pack of Stewart hoppers laid away at my LHS. Got them very reasonable as they came from a large collection the owner bought. I'm going to patch them out and use them in sugar beet service on the Huron Central. While I was there, I found this: I always liked that Missabe Road herald and as an added plus, a number of these cars wound up on the Detroit and Mackinac. This one will get what had to be the simplest patchout job of all time: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2041683
Thats quite a score there RailMix. I like patching and extending the use of rail cars. That herald on the DMIR is a cool one. And it looks pretty simple to patch for DM service too.
Finally received the shedders I have had on backorder since December. I can finally finish my sledding hill on my winter scene. Also found three modern reefers at a LHS. Been looking for some these for a while to update my fleet.
Yep nothing better than shedding. Lol Thanks, seems like every time I go into this particular LHS I find something new I haven’t seen there before.
For some reason I am always away from my trains when I read this topic so no photo's. But... During the last month I picked up the last 4 numbers of the Arrowhead D&RGW 3-bay "committee designed coal cars so now have all 24 cars. Also found an OOP Tangent NP "Lowey green" baby hi-cube applicance box car. Those sold out really fast when Tangent last ran them. Since Athearn has now announced the San Francisco Zephyr version of their Genesis Amtrak SDP40F's, I decided I better hunt down some appropriate Amtrak heritage passenger cars in Phase 1 and Phase 2 versions. I rode it twice in the mid-1970's and have always wanted to model this train. Here are the Amtrak passenger cars I have found so far: -Walthers 73' Budd baggage - Phase 2 -Walthers 73' P-S baggage - phase 1 -Walthers AC&F baggage dorm - Phase 1 -Walthers P-S 6-6-4 sleeper - Phase 1 -Walthers AC&F 44 seat coach - Phase 1 -Walthers Budd lounge - Phase 1 and Phase 2 -Walthers Budd grill diner - Phase 1 -Walthers P-S 12 double bedroom sleeper - Phase 1 -Walthers Budd 10-6 sleeper - Phase 1 -BLI ex-CZ Budd 6-5 sleeper - Phase 1 -BLI ex-CZ Budd 10-6 sleeper - Phase 1 It will be next year before the Genesis SFZ SDP40F's are out so I'll have time to hunt down a couple more appropriate coachs.
So I bought this 4-6-0 on eBay, and it came with the three cars... Locomotive runs like a dream, and takes me back to Chistmas, 1972.
I bought two of these CAT D9T bulldozers. I bought one over the phone, and they daid the CC didn't go through, so I ordered another through the website....now I have two of them...
I need to get me a couple of those D9T's, Who makes the model? Is it reasonably accurate? I would like to see an HO scale Clatterpillar D10..
My new Rapdio Canadian Pacific FP7's arrived yesterday, will have to get some passenger cars to go with them next. Rick Jesionowski
Just received the new Classic Metal Works '55 Chevy pickup. Haven't had it out of the package yet, so the picture isn't the best, but it looks like a pretty nice model. Although I'm really partial to midfifties Fords, there were other companies building trucks (and some good looking ones at that) in the 50's. These are a welcome addition.
National train show was great today. I came out with a bunch of stuff. I now have three of these locos. They will make a great consist. More electronics for a crossing and some lights for a detailing project. And of course a few signs as decals.
Last day of the national train show. I actually visited all three days. I also bought all three days. I have also decided to do a Free-moN module as well. Here are the last two days worth of purchases. Flat cars, an engine cradle, weathering materials (gonna scratch build some wooden stuff now), an n scale train. Now to attempt a decoder install .
Last week, I got this very nice Northlander released by Roco in DC Digital Sound. It was very hard to find but now a am so happy to have it.
