We would like to welcome two new advertisers this week. We'll also have a third as soon as we receive their ad copy.

Today, we welcome Diesel Era Magazine and Extra 2200 South Magazine. We are glad to have both and you will see their ads at the bottom of the pages on TrainBoard and soon on RailImages as well.

These are both great magazines - Diesel Era has been my personal favorite for quite some time and Extra 2200 South is a superb publication as well,

Click these ads to have a look at their sites and subscribe while you're there.

We're glad to have these advertisers on board and we know you'll enjoy what they have to offer as well!

I used to buy Diesel Era at a train store that I frequented. The guy that ran the place could only get so many copies and most were spoken for. There were times that I was not able to get a copy. The great thing about their site is that you can go in and browse old issues and if you are a fan of a particular railroad, say, Frisco for example, you can buy back issues dealing with that (or other in case you like something else). I have a 1996 issue of Diesel Era that I re-read all the time. It is a magazine that I keep every issue that I have and that's why I am particularly pleased that we have them as an advertiser.

I got my first Extra 220 South many years ago, and it is an excellent source of information. I have only seen odd copies of Diesel Era, but can agree with a previous comment that they are both classy mags [IMG]

I had never read Diesel Era until a friend gave me an issue to read - the SLR M420 issue. Very in depth coverage, lots of detail pics for modeling, plus they had the story behind the units. Nice mag!

I have been on two photographer's specials which were attended by Doug Cummings, editor of Extra 2200 South. Nice guy and very knowledgable. Welcome aboard, Doug. :D

I've read X2200S when it was run by Don & Dottie Dover, and it was chock full if info. I've purchased this mag rarely now, only because I'm not close to a source like I used to be. It's still very good, under its new publisher.

Diesel Era is another good one, and I'd recommend it to any "diesel weasel", [IMG] especially if you're wanting to model that specific locomotive of a particular railroad.

I recommend both of them to anyone who likes diesel locomotives (sorry, steam guys).

Welcome aboard to both!! [IMG]

These two advertisers are also on rail images so it is great to have them onboard. I was looking through the diesel era site and lookslike an excellent magazine.

And now, we are pleased to announce our other big new advertiser...

Pentrex!

I've recently found myself addicted to collecting their DVD's. Really, I can't get enough of them. When I am working I pop one in the DVD player and I let them play over and over. Awesome quality stuff!

Check out their site and give them an order or two. You won't be sorry!

Hey Charlie,

worn out the 1522 DVD yet? :D

I've got it- I wish I was back in Afton, OK to see it rip down the Cherokee Sub at track speed on its way to Tulsa.

Another satisfied Pentrex customer,

That's great Martyn. I ordered 3 back issues of Diesel Era (and subscribed). I have one issue from 1996 in with my collection of railroad books. It had 2 good Frisco articles in it. 3 back issues were available with Frisco articles - I think they will arrive today. I waitied too long on one I wanted though... it sold out. :(

I have that one. There are four other ones with Frisco articles. The one from 1990 is unavalable I believe.

These are the others:

ISSUE #1 JANUARY/FEBRUARY : VOLUME 14 - 2003
ISSUE #3 MAY/JUNE : VOLUME 14 - 2003
ISSUE #3 MAY/JUNE : VOLUME 11 - 2000
