    Hi folks
Two days ago we had heavy rain. Our narrow-gauge train "Molli" had to fight through the water masses. This is not entirely safe, because the ash pan hangs pretty deep. It could also get water in the insulation of the cylinder. But they had to go through, because they drive daily in regular service. There are 11 train pairs every day between Bad Doberan and Kühlungsborn.

I was told that the Soo Line across Michigan's upper peninsula also retained a small number of steam locomotives just for this purpose for years. There were apparently problems with flooding along the line at certain times of the year, which diesels would not tolerate.
BTW, Nice video, and very good looking equipment. Great to see steam in this type of regular service today. Thanks for posting

Wow! Cool video and thanks for posting. I had no idea these types of trains were still running and indeed necessary for certain conditions.

Wow, I was just a little north, in Copenhagen.
Just to be clear, these steamers run all day every day in regular service, not for special runs, or when it rains.

I wish we could still say that over here.

    Was it a question?
Yes, daily regular service. We have 4 useable locos. One of them is a new built one. They built it in Meiningen and used the existing historical drawings to build one new.

By the way, the older gentleman looking out the window at 24:13 is my wife's grandfather.

    EDIT:
And one more thing: there is nothing really bad in Bad Doberan. "Bad" is the complementary term for a spa.
If anyone wants to come, we are also the venue of the world's largest Zappa festival "Zappanale"

Outstanding! Even showing the shop crew posing with their "new" creation. Also love the way the tracks run down the center of the narrow street. What is the gauge of this line? It's obviously narrow gauge and appears to be something under 3 feet? Again, it's a great thing to see something like this in regular service.

    It's 900mm ~ 3ft

I didn't check the link. Today I noticed that the video does not work when embedded.

    Exact
It was not a question but a statement, I also live in Germany (rp) and thought from some previous post that maybe it was not clear for everyone that this is regular scheduled service.

Obviously not a 'No Wake' zone.
