That second photo makes me a little nervous. Christine could pull away from the curb and nail Moochie at any time:eek:.
Seriously, your street scenes are magnificent, especially the Chevrolet dealer, and you're absolutely right in that the offerings have gotten much better recently. Those two '55 pickups are pretty good placeholders, but somehow I suspect they'll be replaced with '57s in this scene as soon as they are available. The '57s (both step side and Cameo) are a future purchase for me too.

Definitely like the USRA Mikado- very similar to the ones Grand Trunk Western had. The consolidation is different than the ones used used on this side of the border, but is also a nice model.

On the subject of vehicles, just received our first River Point Station vehicles. Was turned on to these while in the US but had to wait till getting back to UK to track some down. These came from Walthers but have some more coming from Germany.

Initial observations are they are very good. Typically American too, which re-affirms the setting. These will feature on our Freemo modules.

All Fords for now, I know they tend to do batch productions but have they done any others marques?

The Mikado is a former GTW that was transfered to the CN in the 40's.

Those are simply gorgeous steamers and will look at home around all that classic Chevy chrome!

As far as I am aware, RPS has done all Fords. They seem to produce very nice models, although I have yet to buy one. I will eventually, as up until now I have largely neglected the more modern end of my time span where vehicles are concerned.

Picked up a pair of old E&C 65vfoot mill gons one number apart.

Couldn't pass the pair up for $3.50 for both plus they have a 1976 build date

They do indeed look very nice, haven't yet broken one out of a packet to inspect closely. I've just got some 2007 Expeditions too.

Maybe it is a licensing thing with the other marques? not as forthcoming or cheap as Ford... hopefully in time the marques will see the benefit to allowing reproductions in miniature.

Lombard Hobbies in Lombard, Illinois is having a large estate collection sale this weekend. The store was packed this morning, but I managed to pick up a Con-Cor Pioneer Zephyr with the 4th car. Now I really need to get going on the Green Diamond so the Zephyr can have a friend. image.jpg

    Not exactly a purchase....
Railroad club member is disposing of his HO collection, and eventually his layout!
Just not physically able to maintain it, at 85 years!
So, I managed a 5 car set of Santa Fe streamlined cars, and 4 Rio Grande boxcars.
Just a donation for the equipment, for tax write off purposes!

Need to know: What locomotive(s) would I use for power??
A single PA, an A/B set of F’s?? Don’t really plan on going any larger than that!
    Info appreciated.
    Thanks!

A couple of recent show purchases:
    1- A BLI SD 40-2
It needs the snowplows removed and foot boards added. I have not found any pictures of them with plows.

2- A Front Range ACF grain hopper

3- Not shown- Athearn Widevision Frisco Caboose Road number 1290. I messed up on this one and did not notice the floor was missing. The frame was there. I will be searching soon for a replacement part.

    Thanks for looking.

    rr-fallenflags.org

Look up in the Frisco section all the SD40-2's are showing DW style rock plows on the pilot.

    Dale,
The DW part is a PL-130 I got a bunch of them if you cant find any, they were on both ends of the units. Also needs a Leslie RS-5T-RF, 5 chime horn, DW part AH-191, them I dont have so much. Does it have the mars light cast in? I cant see it. Those are a few SL-SF basic details.

Picked up an Athearn GP40P-2, while they were primarily in commuter service in San Francisco they would be able to pinch hit in freight service on the weekends.

Sorta like the SDP45's which were weekend warriors? Grew up in northern California but not being in the bay area I never saw the GP40P-2's in operation.
