That Labatt's Truck at 5:27 is awesome. I haven't seen one in years. Too bad that truck is not Z scale, great videos and modelling nonetheless. Thank you.

    Hi Guys,
Here is a new video of the High Franks Division with the South West Division at the anniversary exhibition of the MeC Wunsiedel in Germany - Bavaria.
The longest train had 64 centerbeam wagons and a length of 7.46 meters.

I love watching Z trains on big layouts! Very nice layout too! Very realistic and at least for me, close to home.

Thanks for sharing. Living on the East Coast I don't get to see many actual z-scale layouts in action. Seldom are they on exhibit in any of the larger shows. There seems to be a lot going on out West. Jim

That video is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing. :notworthy:

While I love the BNSF-centric content for the first ~25 minutes, the night scenes at the end are fantastic too. Hint: Look for the railfans. (y)

    Hi Folks

last weekend we had a local exipition at my old hometown Bad Homburg.

I made a smal video about all the layouts. At the last 5 minutes you can see 4 layouts from Manfred Wilhelm.
He built a lot of layouts in the last 30 years with fantastic scenes and ideas.
I was shure, these is the first video from his layouts

    enjoy it :)

This is a great layout. I had no idea the MTL logging industry was so well detailed. I missed the boat on that one. I didn't think I would need it. Who made the slash burner? It is the best one I've seen. Is it 3-D? The waterfront is fantastic. A+. I may have to take a trip out West to see some of these amazing layouts. How does one know when you are exhibiting? Excellent video. Lots of great ideas. Jim

This year I attended The Great Train Expo Mar 23-24 2019 in Pleasanton, CA, at the Fair Grounds. So I imagine it will be at about the same time again next year, but I don't know if the BAZ Boys will set up the track in 2020. That was my first train show and that is when I made my decision to begin model railroading in Z scale. After seeing the BAZ Boys layout I knew Z was for me! FWIW downtown San Francisco is a 45 minute train ride from Pleasanton Station and if you like Boston then I think you would like SF. Niles Canyon and its railway station is only a few miles from the Fairgrounds too.

I have not been to SF though my wife has been several times. It is apparent all the big z scale shows are in California. I've never heard of one near me on the East coast. I can see how you came to your decision to join Z. A few years ago there was a Z group from the Tri-state area (NY/CT/NJ) that exhibited at the large Amherst Model RR show in Springfield. I have not seen them in several years. It is the only z scale operating layout I've seen. They were nice enough to let me run my NHRR MOW consist. You have made great strides with your new hobby. Happy Thanksgiving. Jim

I made all the logging stuff myself. I also made the MTL sawmill, as well as about 30 other kits for MTL. The slash burner is scratchbuilt too. I laser cut the frame, then used a garden hose filter screen for the top, and made rusty corrugated siding for it. Also there is an orange LED inside, but it's really only visible at night.

Sadly, all the BAZ BoyZ have now retired after 15 years of local GTE shows, and gone their own ways. I retired and moved to Idaho where my kids and grandkids live. Jeff retired and moved the the Serria Nevada foothills, and Matt retired when Yahoo was bought out and they cashed out his founders stock. Not sure where Matt is going to move to. We did meet in Salt Lake and showed at the 2019 NTS

We will keep in touch and bring our modules to the NTS shows, so the next time the BAZ BoyZ will be showing is the NTS in Santa Clara 2021. I'm starting on a new module for that show.

Get your popcorn out. Markm posted this near full length feature film from SP "This is My Railroad" (1947-1952).
    *really* interesting content.

Great little layout, depicting industrial Ruhr area, 1970s....

(Btw try to estimate the layout dimensions after you’ve watched the movie :) )

Very nice and well detailed layout Matt. I suspect it is 60cm x 60cm. Because it is so detailed it really gives the illusion of it being much larger. :D

Good guess Robert, but not quite accurate.. The base is the NOCH Blumenau briefcase layout, measuring 47X34 cm, or some 18,5 by 13,4 inches..

Here's what Peter, the builder, started out with, the classic and somewhat toylike briefcase layout:

Finally, a train running scale speed!
For the double over/under layout, the scenery and structures complete compliment to a very realistic town. All that scratch building, scenes everywhere creates a reality. This is what I like about visiting Altenbeken and other European shows/meets.
