Nice. But as all too often, listening to someone standing next to their microphone, banging away with their DSLR. Click, click, click, click. UGH!!!!
It's time for another video. This time out in the middle of the Mojave Desert, Kelso, Ca. A former Union Pacific Water stop and crew change point. The young lady that presents her take on the Big Boy, is indeed interesting to listen to. I think you will either really like it or hate it. I like it. Here she is Wonder Hussy.
Spencer shoots his pictures from the same spots I would have chosen. Of course, had i of been there. I have slides from this location but not of a Big Boy. If you need to know where the locations are feel free to ask.
I caught up with 4014 Friday of last week when it was at UP's West Colton yard. It was like seeing a living, breathing dragon in person. I would have posted pics but I can't really use PhotoBucket anymore and putting them on any other image host is too time-consuming.
Just post them here using the "Upload a File" button in the reply function below. As long as the image is not too big, it should be fine.
Yeah I can do that, but it's also quite a bit of work as the photos on my phone are about 3-4 woo woo woo, and I'd need to reduce them in size in order to upload here. So...also time consuming.
Do you know guys whether in the forecoming months there are plans to run #4014 in Florida ? I know this location is far away from BBs' original gamefield, but I'm interrested as I'm due to regularly spend some time in the Sunshine State in the future... Dom
Rats. I found a cool video of 4014 on YT the other day. Was going to post it here. Thought I had it bookmarked. But now cannot find....
Shawmut, AZ I was standing on the original Southern Pacific right of way Just west of of CP SP929 this morning, in between of Seca and Toltec, AZ
Bremner, that second pic from the top-crop out "Mr. Muscle" on the right, and make it B&W and you have a real winner there, great shot!! Could very well be from the fifties!!
We don't like the Big Boy, do we? LOL We Love it! Found another video that just hit You Tube. An aerial of the train coming down through Rainbow Canyon, Nevada. The rest is self explanatory.
This video captures some of my favorite train watching hot spots. He misses some of the action but handles his camera well and has plotted out where he wanted to be for his next shot. He did well considering some of the difficulties to access these spots.
Ken, here's that neat video you found or at least it would be like you to find this one. History of the Big Boy. If you happen to be one of those unfamiliar with Big Boy here is a video that reaches into the past and explains how they came to be. Warning, it's a long video so a favorite beverage and snack might be in order.
