Finally finished my two new E7s. Both have Kato E9 mechanisms with DCC. For the black on the number boards I used a small Sharpie rather than trying to brush paint on them.
Pics when they get here. Just scored 3 bundles of 6 pieces each code 70 micro engineering flex track for $32.88 for all brand new 18 pieces.
MRC version Model Power 4-4-0. The pulling power isn't that impressive (slips up grades) but the sound works with DC to my ear's delight. And it looks fantastic.
I was going to get one of thoese as I've heard they run and sound awesome. How much of a grade are we talking about before it slips? And how much was it pulling?
I think 6-7 freight cars up 1% the drivers just ended up spinning. There is only one traction tire set on the loco and the cab is lighter compared to the MP 4-6-2 so this wasn't surprising. It pulls my 4 passenger car Sante Fe setup just fine, but I have to run at a higher speed.
A post by Rich_s earlier on this thread for the bluford bay window caboose prompted me to order one for myself as I was really impressed with their transfer caboose that I already have. Just arrived and again they did not disappoint. This thing is a beauty with applied handrails and pieces on the underside. I love my MTL stuff but these guys really do it right.
A used Kato Sound Box and Power Supply from a Trainboard member. I'll post performance after Thanksgiving.
Picked up a Broadway Limited CB&Q E8A. Micro-Trains RDG 2 bay hopper, NYC 50' Gondola with container load. Atlas RI and BM 2 bay covered hoppers. Trainworx 2 NYC Flexi-van service trailers. Will mount on Flexi-van NYC Mark III rail car.
Just got a pre convention 5 car set of orange DRGW boxcars from 1996. To match the convention set I purchased recently. Will have a total of 10 cars, all different numbers, for the 1996 N Scale convention.
Not N scale, but will probably be used to photograph it sometime this winter. Tamron 24-70mm f/2.8 G2 lens. First photo from it is a blue hour oil can at Soo Tower.
This showed up in the mail today. It's been a long wait for these to come out but it was worth it, they are really nice looking and great running.
I guess my order that same car should be coming in the mail soon. Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
I heard these are hard to find since they are out of production. Scored one yesterday at a train show!
These were later replaced by the MacCafe version which is more modern. I prefer this older version you got. Good find!! Sent from my SM-J737T using Tapatalk
Well, discovered that my latest, will NOT arrive until Monday. Because mailman for this area NEVER delivered mail Friday or Saturday! A package or two was delivered,, but extremely important mail/packages was never delivered! Not the first time they've failed to deliver on time!
I was a little confused as the included paper decals has "McCafe" signs which I didn't think was that long ago. I'm guessing 5-10 years ago McCafe was used as an advertising slogan.
