Hey guys new to joining on here. I am a big railroad fan. I have several postwar lionel's, a 2343 aba, 2344 aba and a custom painted 2343 sf but painted it to be union pacific. I also have a set of 2023 alcos. My question is, is how many cars can these pull without putting strain on the motors? Ive rewired and cleaned all of my engines so they run great. I do not run any freight but i do run the aluminum passenger cars. I like the look and feel of them vs the plastic ones. Anyone running these and if so how many using your f3s? Long time since I had any Lionel. But when I was running them, they seemed to have plenty of pulling power. If the load got too heavy, even with Magne-Traction, there would be wheel slip.
I love my postwar engines, id hate to damage them. I know they are tough workers though. I've tried pulling all 7 up cars i have but it seemed to struggle a bit. It could be my controller is not powerful enough to run these engines and all the lighted cars. If i take a couple off runs fine. The alcos struggle with that many. I use an mth 1000 transformer as it was on sale at trainworld.com Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk
