Fantastic photos sir! I remember the days of chasing NS steam excursions. The NS steam team always put on a good show.

MILW "Patrol" at Middletown, WI, April 1987. Did any road have cooler, more iconic switch stands than the Milwaukee? (y)

February 1989, Meridian & Bigbee crossing the Tombigbee River at Naheloa, AL. This is one of those neat highway/rail lift bridges.

The M&B is now owned by Genessee & Wyoming and has expanded its operations, gaining trackage rights east into Montgomery, AL.

    Nice old Geeps.

I like the interesting juxtaposition of the sign and the nearby bridge - "Weight Limit 5 Tons".:ROFLMAO:

Interesting that it has not been "Banditized" by 1987. This is well more than a year after Soo Line ingested the Milw's remnants.

Back in the late 1980's Georgia Power's Plant Scherer just north of Macon Georgia began burning powder river basin coal. Those trains are now BNSF/NS trains but for the first 20 years, they were UP/NS trains. Here we see one from the UP days rolling south through NS's Inman Yard in Atlanta in late 2003.
