That was a bit difficult to watch. Start, stop, start, stop..... Slo-mo.... I am guessing most of these, or all, have been out of service and stored.
During the freeze frames, I like that the origin of each unit was provided. A lot of history going to scrap.
That SDP40 would be a supreme catch if it was on a train under power. I didn’t know any survived to become BNSF locomotives.
Sister unit BNSF 6325 (ex-GN 323) lives to haul another day as GRD 9043 on the Gardendale (TX) RR. http://ironhorseresources.com/rail-lines/gardendale/
All these units really go to the scrapyard (even the pulling Dash 9 ?) ? No chance for them to be landing on a shortline ? Dom
Great shot! I had to take a second look (my glasses). I thought the logo was a "Veggie Tales" pickle.
Most of these locomotives are being stored in Galveston. I guess those that they can not sell will go to scrap. https://www.galvnews.com/news/free/...ms5Dx1PRV4ThaOr0YoaDMcKTTG27ZXY0iis3CJqzn2MnM
One of the ex-GN SDP40's is in a Minnesota museum to get repainted Big Sky Blue!! https://transportationmuseum.org/collections/diesel-locomotives/ #325
