Marklin produces concrete slab tracks. Slabs have diferent shape and colour.

Hi, thank you for sharing. My initial plan was to use Marklin track for my build, from your photo above Marklin track is definitely more visually appealing than Rokuhan, but for some reason, I had some issues appropriately connecting the tracks - I was not completely satisfied with the fit. For that reason I made the decision to do a Rokuhan build, and Rokuhan does have some track with concrete slabs but it is a limited selection.

After receiving the track and locomotives, I am even more excited about this project. I am very pleased with the Rokuhan track, locomotives, and rolling stock. So, I had to find a way to make my small layout a bit more complex. This is what I have so far; before I start cutting foam, feedback will be greatly appreciated. Huge thanks in advance.

Tony, I did like the other design but having a double track is great for running. If you had some extra switches and combine the two designs with the spur track for the intermodal area. Maybe remove the short siding and put the two spurs up on the top. With a main spur going into the intermodal area. By using the siding track and the straight connecting the turntable. An maybe using some of the stall tracks?

Because of the size of my layout, I am planning to limit length of trains to the loco and about 3-4 rolling stock. By having the section below, I can store a loco with rolling stock on the straight area and be able to keep circulation around it. That is my rationale for this section.

I like the suggestion of adding a main spur on top going to the intermodal area, the way I had it before. I wanted to minimize the additional turnout controls that I would have to add to the Rokuhan controller (the C03 has two built-in switch controllers), for the bulk issue, but I do see the value of having additional track going to the intermodal area.

Tony I went back and counted your pieces. Then I came up with this. Only this is there are no bumper tracks that I see. Maybe this can spark some ideas?

thank you very much for doing this - do not let the number of pieces limit the creativity, I can buy more :)

I am smiling, we are getting closer, I have a depth limit of 21 inches to store the layout, these are great suggestions. I will post the results. Thank you.

I understand that the blue area is a inland harbour. I do not like the lower bridge on the track to building (R049). I think you could change the angle of harbour to make it pararel to that track. You can also have simulation of harbour operation in that case ... In this case I think it will be good to remove the crossing R082 to the left - it should not be on the bridge. I hope the drawing will tell better what I mean.

What track program are you using? I have Railmodeler pro and the Rokuhan track option has the roundhouse for the turntable and other structures available.

I'm very impressed with the "group" track planning. I've been away from hobbies with work, but everyone seems to get more done when I'm away. Great job, great imagination!

    This is developing nicely.

My only input would be that you've almost got a three track mainline at the front of the layout. Why not extend it ALL THE WAY across the front?

If I am not mistaken, Tony received the double crossover with his order. So he might as well use it instead of discarding it.
