    I would like to build everything from scratch, that is my intention as of today :)

    This is a recurring suggestion, I have been trying to minimize having to move a whole train in reverse and by having a bypass from the main line, I can store a train in the straight section and have circulation around it, but I do see the value of a longer track in the front. I have to check the feasibility of uncoupling the Rokuhan locomotive from the rolling stock, then bring another locomotive to the this line on the opposite end and couple it to the train.

    Just give yourself some time to figure out what you are really looking for. This last design is an improvement.

    @Mo-Pac, I had previously thought about changing the angle of the harbor, not exactly how it is now; I am pleased with this updated layout version with the busy section of the intermodal in the center. I can all all sorts of structures.

    For the inland harbor, I plan to model a narrow barge such as this one:

    Cannot wait to see the outcome for this now. I like the harbor following the tracks.

    Z scale versions of airplanes ?? I'm interrested ! As far as I know the only 1:220 scale airplane I've been able to find is a military cargo C160F Transall. Otherwise I've several 1:200 scale airplane model kits (Douglas DC3, B747-200, Mc Donnell Douglas DC10-40, Airbus A300-B4, Mc Donnell Douglas MD11 and Lockheed L1011 Tristar) but they are not 1:220. ;)

    OK Z scale is targeted to only 1:220 vs which N scale is at 1:148 to 1:160. Even if his jet is at 1:200 it is not far off. Plus I've seen many people use slightly larger or smaller out of scale vehicles to compliment their layouts.

    Here are some more. 1:220 jets from china.

    @rray
    Robert, I know you disassembled your turntable to make it fit better. I do not have your capabilities; I will weather it to match my layout but I will use it as is. According to this photo, leaving one inch of room for depth should be enough, do you agree?

    Yes, the Rokuhan turntable is not very deep, 1 inch would be enough depth, but remember to make the turntable hole large enough to allow the approach track screw holes to drop below the table too, not just the pit. They will cause the turntable height to sit about 1/10" too high for the approach tracks.

    When I sold my home in the suburbs and gave my layout and some supplies to a family member, he kept the supplies and never used them - I got some of it back today including ballast, talus, turf, brushes, containers, and a new Iwata compressor and airbrush. I am smiling.

    I hope you thanked your relative for loaning you the storage space. It is always good to donate to the family first. It makes asking for them later much easier. Your plans are looking good. Best. Jim

    Loving the plans, Tony.

    Take your time is my only addition to the other good advice, so far. Since you have material now, try to resist jumping!

    As a very old pharmacist, the times I was a jumper are my only regrets. Good job planning!
