    Some of the center door cars on the trains are actually Metro North cars that are pooled with NJT. They were cool to see.

    It was 2007 and later before I started travelling up that way and those were either gone or almost gone by that point and sadly, I missed out on them. :(

    I found one, taken at Whitehouse, NJ in June 1981. I once read that when these were new, commuters were less apt to walk in front of them at pedestrian crosswalks as trains waited at stations because the big GEs had such an enormous presence.
