I had one order get lost in the mail and never did show up. Hobby dealer replaced my items and the second time they did arrive on a timely basis. I also just made a purchase off ebay, and shipping appears to be happening as it should, although tracking information is about a day behind.
My last order from Japan I got a DHL notification of shipment and will be here next Wednesday. However I nearly paid twice what the item was worth to be able to use DHL to get it out of Japan. Be most happy when this covid crap is over and I can finally get back to using EMS shipping.
Same here! However, my shipments have been delayed for a while on parts coming in from overseas that usually wouldn't be. Of the packages I ordered most of them had tracking updates on May 19 and then nothing until July when they finally showed up on my doorstep. DHL on the other hand, I haven't seen any delays but then again the price on that is considerably higher. Almost all of my DHL shipments have been from JLCPCB with exception of one from Espressif.
Another update: The fourth package is in the system. They are telling me all four will deliver Monday - including one that is currently across the Ohio river from it's destination. I don't like what they are doing.
I am tempted to cancel my one Japanese order which has been setting forever and go with the retailer I know can get the shipment out.
Well, I finally did get the package today. You know what's irritating? The seller paid for 2-day Priority Mail. So, July 27th to August 7th. Two days, right?
I sold on feebay a item that went out on the 12 of July. It was going to Arizona but stopped in safransisco until the 24 and that's the last time it was scanned and says irritant late! Customer opened a case of didn't receive item and ebay Ian telling me to refund the buyer or replace the item! The post office said they are down manpower to 40%! But we are supposed to be patient. I am and yesterday was first class.
If you are upset about the delays of the USPS, read about the new Post Master General, who he has fired, his qualifications, and his policies, then don't discuss it here.
It's rather unfortunate the timing of the changes. Some changes are necessary but I don't know for certain if the changes that have been made are the right ones.
Order was shipped from Brooklyn NY to Ft Wayne IN . Arrived 4 days later. No problem on this shipment.
I've got an international shipment (n scale locomotive) inbound from Europe that's been sitting in NY since 8/1. I saw all the warnings about delays so I just kind of expected not to see the thing for a month but it's still frustrating to see it sit once it's on US soil. It's been 3 weeks total so far, I figure one more week can go by before I'll get antsy. Domestic shipping, so far, has been remained speedy for me.
With SurePost, UPS delivers a parcel to the recipient's nearest USPS branch and the post office typically delivers the package a day later. Yea, had a supplier send me a order that way LOL. They had my new address and confirmed it but the shipping dept. in their own wisdom sent it to my old address in Oregon. So UPS dropped of at post office were they then forwarded it to my new address. Which was OK but they also changed new priority shipping which I had to pay in order to pick it up. Instead of taking 3 days it took two weeks. Oh and if they just shipped USPO and printed postage on line priority is about the same as UPS ground and much faster. Plus using PayPal for postage is a lot less they using the post office web site even with a business account. rich
I haven't had delays within the US of more than a day or so, although there is one package that is testing things - stuck in Portland OR. On the other hand I do have the wonderful issue of a package that is missing. Per the tracking it was delivered on Saturday. Two packages in fact, one of which I did receive and the other........ no telling. But per the USPS tracking it was delivered "in/at mailbox".
I've seen this happen and then the package showed up the next day in the early morning. If you don't receive it today I'd contact the post office and ask them to track the package through their internal systems as it likely was mis-delivered.
Was the missing package something expensive? This happened to me a few days ago. We ordered an EXPENSIVE laptop for my son's start of college. My garage door was open (<- important fact) as it was a Saturday and we had tons of chores around the house. It was UPS SurePost so USPS did the final delivery. I got an e-mail that it was deliver when I just stepped out for a moment. There were people in the house but the mailman never rings the bell after delivery like UPS does. The tracking says "Left at front door/porch" or something that that effect. I came home and looked EVERYWHERE and nothing to be found. woo woo woo? Expensive package AND school was starting soon to the point where we could not order another one. I was about to run down to the distribution center and read them the riot act. One last check and we found it!!!! It was hidden in the garage near the snow blower at the back of the garage. The laptop did not come in an exterior box (box within a box) so it had "Lenovo Expensive Laptop" written all over the outside of the box. The mailman was thinking that he didn't want any porch pirates stealing so he went into the garage and left it there. But we live in an ultra safe neighborhood and leaving it on our front door would not have been a problem. Or he could have rung the door bell as someone was inside the house, evidenced by a wide open garage! So good intentions led to panic attack!
usually usps has been ok/good lately. shipping delays? yes, a few. tracking issues? yes, a few. internationally, a few items had some significant delays (eg 6-8 weeks) with no tracking updates, notably from china, russia, and japan. the stalls were in both domestic and international locations. (currently 2 from china still missing since may with no updates.) domestically, a couple short delays and issues. one parcel from northern california to southern california got trashed enough that both to & from addresses (but not the tracking code?! ) that it went to the georgia “dead mail” facility, all in may and no updates since the one the day after i actually talked to an agent and it “moved” in the system...lost i guess. i’m currently waiting for a bulky item from north carolina which got to the san francisco regional (in richmond) facility almost 10 days ago with several “delayed, arriving late” updates. not too bad given our current upside down world i guess. local usps (when things track to my local post office) has been great, absolutely great. cheers! hwn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Nothing expensive fortunately. It's just very odd. My neighborhood has the mailboxes in "cluster boxes" instead of at each house. And at the cluster boxes there are package boxes. The USPS leaves a key in your mailbox (which itself needs a key to open) and you use that key on the box indicated to retrieve your package. One was there, and one......... wasn't.. Maybe it will show up today?
If there wasn't a missed delivery tag and it has been marked as delivered likely it will. If not give them a call (or go into the post office) to track it down.
Also "what he said." There is supposed to be a refund policy for Priority Mail shipments that don't arrive on time... https://www.usps.com/help/refunds.htm I was thinking about offering a couple of things on that Internet Auction Community, but given the example above it appears that there is another reason why this is not a good idea... buyers opening cases when the package isn't delivered on time, no fault of the seller. I'm still a lot more worried about shipping delays for, say, prescriptions, than anything else. Those aren't N Scale so I'll leave it right there.
