I echo Russell's thoughts on the subject. Can't be encouraging for the railroads to put the extra effort in to celebrate their heritage when this happens.

BNSF is not celebrating its heritage with this car or any other heritage logo. Nope, sorry to say this is all about business -- protecting copyrights. Use 'em or lose 'em.
Thanks, OlyPen. I was unaware of that reason for what I assumed was just celebrating corporate history. As the third generation SP&S hiree in my family, I still rue the day that we were swallowed up by the Bungling Nuisance on March 3, 1970. As if a premonition of what was to befall the SP&S, my paternal grandmother (a resident of Fallbridge/Wishram since 1922 when my grandfather transferred from the SP&S Car Department in St. Helens) died the previous day.
