No and sorry all. I posted as West Point AL and it should be Mississippi. I think this was old GM&O trackage and then Mid South and now KCS.
About 30 miles south of West Point is a little place called Artesia MS. KCS has a small yard there and it is where they interchange with the C&G. I tried man times to catch action there with basically no luck. Here are a couple of shots I got at the yard
These are all very interesting shots. In 45 years of railfanning, I've somehow never seen a KCS unit.
I saw some, fifty years ago, when I lived in NW Louisiana. The white paint scheme. But had no camera at that time.
July 16, 2009. Crossing the Colorado River in Wharton, Texas. Just after completion of the rebuilding of the old Macaroni line between Rosenberg and Victoria.
I posted this nearly two years ago and I still haven't seen a KCS unit. I sure hope that I can catch one before they all disappear.
We do get them through the Carolinas every now and then on NS. Mostly though, it's UP that commonly shows up.
