Nice stretch of track at a nice time of year. The rails look well polished. Reminds me of a part of the old CN/CNoR/Montreal & Ottawa between St-Andre-Est and Grenville. But yours still has tracks. Not a "linear park" with asphalt paving...
After the shutdown, this was the furthest west still active signal on the Milwaukee Road's former Transcontinental Main. Looking into a sunset of finality. Miles City, Montana:
I guess it's unanimous - WOW! But if a train would cross just at that moment, it would have to be steam!
Amazing Hemi. So you took that picture? I wonder the odds of that scene and a train actually passing? Beautiful shot!
Russell, since the gates are still down, I think it's a fair bet that the rear of the train is directly under your feet. However, that's a great picture, also an excellent example of the artistic vanishing point.
Yeah, I tend to have a lot of those type shots. I must have worked in a caboose in a previous life. However there is no train in the photo.
Hey, I never called you on that. You bring so much outside interest to our forum, I just had to pull your leg for fun.
