Sigh, railfanning was nice while it lasted....Although, I did get a new to me Tamron 18-270 all in one lens from KEH.com A steal at $123 with tax and free shipping. So now I have a lens that will actually focus. Honestly, if you have a DSLR, but don't want to cart around a case of lenses, these are hands down the best.
Back to Emmett on the GTW again this week. After all the winter snow shots I've posted recently, I thought I should post this one just to show everyone it's not always cold and snowy here. Sometimes it's damp and foggy. One thing scanning these photos has remineded me of is how much I miss the old orange and blue.

Another blue boxcar, nothing like the pristine GT box posted above. DSC06584 by Sepp K posted Jan 9, 2021 at 9:45 PM 21M's power splits the signals. Both pictures today, 01/09/2020 at Wyomissing JCT on the NS Harrisburg Line DSC06591 (2) by Sepp K posted Jan 9, 2021 at 9:45 PM
I bought a bunch of camera gear in the last 3 years, some came from KEH. Fantastic experience, great gear, well-inspected, tested, graded and smooth transaction. Highly recommended. I cart around a whole bag of lenses, so I can appreciate an all-in-one! CP 199 at CP497, west of Carpio:
It runs in my mind that Fort Street Union Depot in Detroit had a couple of those and one of them wound up in Florida. Does anyone know if it was this one?
GN got 10, Union Belt of Detroit got 2, and Southern did get one. Union Belt sold its two NW5s, one to Mississippi Export RR and the other to Olin-Mathieson Chemical, who didn't need the steam generator and cut down the short hood. This is obviously not that one!
I thought I saw the MSE NW-5 at their Escatawba engine terminal some 50+/- years ago. Sweet Looking Machine.
