In trying to organize all my rr related pics onto a new back up drive, I unearthed pics of these intermodal flats that I painted and decaled a while back. All where originally factory painted yellow Trailer Train flats from M/T

I didn't know NOPB had 89 foot flats. Got a prototype picture?

I don't have one at all sir. A quick search only turned up that Walthers did this car in HO and Herald King still has HO decals for this car.

These decals I used came from S&R Models which is long gone (they were a member here on TrainBoard way back) and seems I remember them having a prototype pic on their website which is also gone like dust in the wind. The guy who ran it was big into intermodal and made a lot of decals and stuff for the odd paint schemes that were out there running around. This reminds me, I should still have one more set of his decals laying around that I haven't used yet for another odd car. Will have to dig them out.

Good morning from cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio!

I managed to complete a couple more cars this week!

Athearn 2970CF ACF Covered Hopper kit, painted with Scalecoat II MofW Gray and lettered with Herald King Decals. Cars were purchased by the NP for Cement Service in 1967, eventually also used in hauling Bentonite and Silica Sand. The cars hauling Bentonite and Sand could be found all over the US.

IMRC 40' PS1 Boxcar Kit, painted with Scalecoat II B&M Blue and Black Paints. These were 1957 purchases that were rebuilt in 1976 lowering the A end ladders and a new simplified paint scheme. Used in general service on the B&M. Below is a picture of the as delivered car. {I did this car over 10 years ago.)

I have not been to the club for serveral weeks, so I resurrected an old picture of my Athearn DT&I GP38-2's hauling a coil steel car train on the Strongsville Club Layout.

    Thanks for looking!

"Cloudy and cold Northeast Ohio". Where's the rain? If I ever read "sunny and warm", I will wonder what planet I'm on! Just kidding. Sharp looking work. High standards.

Whoopee, Candy's opened her own night club. Of course she's behind the scenes making sure things don't get too Naughty.

Great details as usual. Thanks, dear lady.

P.S., hope you are staying well, and have access to COVID-19 vaccine.

Had a little 'fun' on the NPBH last night! Huh! Wonder what caused this?! As usual, it will take 30 or more days to get to the bottom of this! Then, after a nights discussin at the local saloon, the CEO, Track Master and Train Master will decide, over prodigious amounts of spirits, that it was Sven and Ole's fault! N Scale LV boxcar I painted some years ago using dry transfer lettering, with light chalk weathering. Dry transfers are unforgiving -- ya get only one shot to get things right. o_O

Kato is coming out with F-7s in the as delivered scheme so I got out part of the fleet.

The only original freight scheme I have is on the FTs shown. thumbnail_IMG_0327.jpg

I see an Erie-Built in there! I think those are one of the most underappreciated locomotives, and the stainless steel wings on the Milwaukee units make them the best looking Erie out there. Its too bad that they were all scrapped; they just seem like a locomotive model that everyone forgot about.
