I am ditching the current 75 Watt CFL bulbs that I now have illuminating my train-room and would like some advice on what type of 100 Watt (Equivalent) LED's would provide the best light for photography? With my CFLs I always have to remember to use the "Color Balance" feature on my camera or else the pics will have a yellowish tint to them. I'd like to find an LED bulb that has a better "White" than these CFL's.
Depending on what time of day you model, look for 5000-5500 Kelvin (K) color temperature. Or daylight/"warm white." Most home improvement stores will have a selection. If anything, ask the store attendants for assistance.
Absolutely. If you're getting a yellowish tint then your current lamps are probably around 3000K. 5000-5500K is similar to midday sun. 6000+K can be very blue.
