This gondola was built for the PRR in 1966 and remains in NS company service today. The picture was taken 04/01/2021 as it heads West at Wyo JCT. DSC07601.JPG

I almost overlooked it, with those spiffy pink centerbeams right behing it.

During the run-up to CR's split between NS and CSX, thousands of CR cars and even locomotives were restenciled with legacy reporting marks to as to identify their new owner. NYC was often used for CSX and PRR for NS. This is likely one of those cars.

According to the altoonaworks page, this is not one of those cars. He states this was the car's original reporting marks and number, built in the Samuel Rea shops.

Wow, that's cool! Those are such neat looking cars .... and of a most durable design too. :)
