Candy, That is a great scene and the billboard is worth a really good chuckle. There is one thing, though, that I feel compelled to nitpick. The caution sign on the gate is a few decades too new (a format that resulted from OSHA if I'm not mistaken) Perhaps you could substitute a handpainted one that says "Stop. Sound horn" or something similar?
I have very few images to go by. I have been told pre-1900, so those dates would be at the end of it appearing... I need to find an old truss rod car to be more plausible.
It's gone. I had to redo the back area somewhat. I didn't leave enough clearance for the passing train! Thanks for noticing. I want to keep my era correct
Robert, Perhaps you could try backdating that car. A few years ago, I did a truss rod conversion on a string of Roundhouse shorty flatcars/gondolas. Although strictly freelanced, I thought the result was fairly decent. My apologies for an edit of a really grainy photo taken when I was trying out background flats on my old layout.
Yay! And now back to my campaign to educate the masses and correct the often quoted error about the actual location of that momentous event. Did I ever say it happened at Promontory Summit and NOT Promontory Point? Nah, probably not.
Oh, wow-Z scale F-45's!! Sure wish AZL would come out with these in molded! Love to see some GN/BN ones.
Well while we were getting our all day rain, it started snowing this morning. Our neighbor called for us to take in our annuals off the porch so they wouldn't freeze. Rick Jesinowski
I was just wishful thinking. IF, they ever do these in plastic, it'd be nice to see them in GN "Big Sky Blue", BN green, and all the other railroads that have ran them over the years. Thanks for the pic of the BN 6616, brings back great memories of the 1:1 real locos from my childhood.
Even the UTAH RAILWAY ran one of EMDs F45s. An ex Santa Fe unit, which is now a hotel in GN Big Sky Blue...
