I decided to stay with the Detroit & Mackinac again this week. This was shot inside D&M caboose 207, an ex PRR cabin car, on display at the Crawford County Historical Museum located at the former Michigan Central depot in Grayling. The 207 was the number Bowser offered in the most modern (all red) D&M paint a few years ago. Other D&M cars of this class are on display at Standish, MI and also at Lincoln, MI

A structure this week. Montreal West commuter station:

    20160203_152437.jpg

It opened in 1889, originally as Montreal Junction. It was rebuilt into its present form in 1905, and renovated and expanded in recent times - they managed to keep much of its original look and feel, a nice touch. It's slightly to the east and across Westminster Avenue of Montreal West Tower, which is now a local history museum.

Right now, it serves the St-Jerome, Candiac and Vaudreuil-Hudson commuter trains heading into Lucien-L'Allier (formerly CP's Windsor) Station. A lot of traffic today consists of students from the nearby Concordia University's Loyola Campus.

I took this photo on a wet and dreary winter day back in early February 2016.

Interesting note: since this photo was taken, the AMT (metropolitan transit agency) has changed monikers no less than three times: to RTM, then ARTM, and finally Exo.

Mike, that station bears more than a passing resembence to the Atlas one on your layout. Good choice.

I noticed that when I fished that photo out of my archives. Layout construction was to begin two years and change after the photo!
