Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a great weekend and got a lot accomplished. Let's get started!

Saturday: After a full day of travel on Friday, I was ready for some wind therapy, so Angela's Dad dropped in with his Harley and I blew the dust off mine and we went for a short ride to lunch then to the HD Dealership. The Sportster I have learned on for the past three years has had it's limitations so I traded it in for a bigger cruiser that both Ang and I can enjoy. It will also be a lot more comfortable for the long trips we want to do as a family.

Sunday: We started the day with a fellow N scaler and his wife, both personal friends of ours and went to the range. We had a good time and spent a few hours there before grabbing a nice late lunch. I picked up some adhesive I needed for the Athearn project and went home. Even with the air conditioner upstairs, it was hot. I only managed to get some of the track work done but what got done came out perfect. I hope to finish that project tonight.

So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Friday the 30th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

Almost nothing accomplished. I was thinking about a re-motor, so sent an email to a fellow modeler for some ideas. Waiting to hear back from him. That's about it.

Track laying progress has now reached the location of the the EAF and Rolling Mill on the west side of Charleston. The south lead switch for the facility and passing siding is also in place.

Also installed another dozen joint bars working upgrade around the curve at the far end of the peninsula following the track installation.

Despite the summer heat, was able to drill the holes to mount casters on my N Scale layout legs. By elevating the legs a small amount, I could lay my drill on its side with the bit centered on the perfect spot to drill the holes straight and true. Legs are in primer and will end up painted green. Still have a whole lot to do, but am enjoying the build. Ended the day with a jump into the neighborhood pool.

Good Monday morning to you all. Over the weekend the rebuilt signal got installed at it's location in the canyon. I have another relay cabinet for this scene but dropped it while trying to paint it and so far have not been able to find it.

And good progress was made on the signal control board. Need to get started on a drawing for this one as well.

Not too much was done Saturday due prepping for entertaining Saturday night.

Sunday I finished building 30 CV beams for the Pratt truss bridge. I got the glue marks cleaned off w/ steelwool, then polished up w/ cheese cloth. Then managed to get the floor assembly about 95% complete. Bridge progress shot below.

Also…. Got three cars out if the bad-irder box and back on the layout.

    Happy Monday!
Saturday was spent traveling home from a trip. Managed to snag a few shots of some Georgia Central power tied up for the weekend in Macon as I passed through. Got home just in time to catch Svengoolie on MeTV and then to bed.
Sunday involved getting caught up on all my work email, laundry, and grocery shopping. Did manage to run the layout for a few minutes and looking for ideas on what I want to start working on next.

Hope you all have a great week!

Model railroader's rule #2: Whatever is dropped may go into another dimension and will reappear at a future time when is has been replaced or otherwise no longer needed.

I write this post amid diminishing thunder claps. Saturday was chore day. Also got in some important napping both Saturday and Sunday. As mentioned, the diagramming is complete and I am at the point of gathering raw materials (and assembly ideas). This has turned out less easy as far as colors go. It is very humid here and I noticed others have to deal with heat as well . All be cool and safe and have a great week. :)

Closely related to the rule that says "Buying a replacement for a lost item assures immediate reappearance of what was lost". I somehow lost a shop vacuum hose adapter and I've been having to use duct tape to make a connection. I haven't bought a replacement yet; hoping that the thing shows up.

No modelling this weekend. Was at a train swap all weekend with the N-Trak layout and One-Trak.

Procrastination bit me in the butt, still had a good weekend at the cabin though.

    Didn't finish any boxcar kits..

I was supposed to mow Saturday. Instead I slept in then worked on a boxcar kit and needed glue. After an hour round trip and I came home with acetone. It didn't work as well as I thought it would. So I held off on the box cars.

Today, Monday, I finaly mowed. Wouldn't you know it, on the workbench in the shed, I found the fresh bottle of ACC I brought up last trip to the cabin.

Heading home in the morning. Hopefully I can finish at least one car tomorrow.

I’m calling it done. Lights will be added in future. Somethings are not lined up very well, like the mock paper road, oh well, those city workers :) They should know better than to pave with paper anyway!

Also, hung some shutters this weekend Think I am gonna leave a few off and have a crew in the layout hanging them. Me thinks.

What's weird is that I have memories of watching Svengoolie in Chicago in the early '70s. I looked it up and find that the show originally ran there from 1970 to 1973. The current MeTV version remains close to its roots and is a lot of fun.

In the early 1970's, there were various "B" horror movie shows. I remember them on Friday nights, and more so Saturday, late. Not the series, such as Alfred Hitchcock or Rod Serling. I believe one was called "Fright Night". (Which had more than one incarnation?) Then later there was "Elvira".

I remember watching reruns (not sure if it was WGN or not) when I was a kid in the early 90s.

Ran some errands, took the family to the pool and I still found time to get some weathering done. Worked on a few box cars and DODX flats.

Also-a small spider tried to play brakeman on the Metra Pullman bike Coach I painted a couple of weeks ago. I didn’t notice until the train was already moving-so I let him do a few laps at a scale 79mph before I stopped it and got it off the layout. [IMG]

Anyone else remember Dr Shock in the Philly TV market?
