The price on that OLD U30CG is an absolute hoot. Where do they come up with these wacko dollar (144.23) amounts? By throwing darts at a board? It just looks outright stupid.

That last seller's Feedback Profile does not have any of these high-priced items sold - everything on the first several pages is < $50. https://www.ebay.com/fdbk/feedback_profile/steamboy4395?filter=feedback_page:RECEIVED_AS_SELLER I don't get it, do these sellers post stuff like this just so we can fill this thread up?
You think that lot is bad? Have a look at this one... same seller. https://www.ebay.com/itm/194219087163
Totally worth it! https://www.ebay.com/itm/1942579139...vqovHZTkZSnZtdpA1Kio|ampid:PL_CLK|clp:2508447
I like it how below this listing fleaBay helpfully provides same items, all brand new and all under $10. Except that shipping to Canada for me would be $15-20, go figure.
I Clearly see a Bachmann F9A Chassis Lord knows what else here. N Scale Conrail Locomotive in Plastic Box #2284 | eBay .. one has to see the photos they're worth the laugh! Tom
Interesting that he says it’s a High Speed caboose. But description indicates its from Model Power!?
The only explanation I can think of is it might be a die hard collect anything marked SP person, or simply ignorance.
Some people think that something is worth what they believe it is worth...others think it is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. Neighbor bought their house in 2008 at the height of the market before the crash. Shortly afterwards the husband has a heart attack. She was the nicest proverbial old church lady next door but she could not make the house payments by herself but her husband had a GREAT vintage car collection. House was about to be foreclosed upon and she decided to sell some of the cars. Instead of trying to save the house and take fair market for the cars, she wanted Barrett-Jackson or Mecum prices like she saw on TV...except these cars were daily drivers. Example: 1969 RS SS Camaro convertible that was in good, not great shape. Hagerty lists it at between $25-35k, Powers lists it for $30-40k. She wanted $95k and would rather loose her house than sell the car. In the end one of the kids took the car, gave her nothing for it and treated it like a free car and ran it into the ground (I wanted that car and told her I would give her $35k and showed her that was fair market...she was very disappointed that I would offer such a low price). She's no longer our neighbor. Some people believe that something is worth what they think instead of what another person is willing to pay for it. I HATE the High Speed Readers Digest freebies. Doing a search for Southern Pacific I get 1000 listings (only 55 are auctions), but 190 (20% +/-) are High Speed 'cars', and this is after the seller gets a warning when they are listing it that High Speed is a freebie and not really an N scale train car.
