    Greetings to the gateway to the weekend everyone! It looks like we had a great modeling weekend last weekend, let's do it again.

    Saturday: No real railroad plans today. The wife and I are planning on a mini road trip with her dad on the motorcycles. May, June and July were stressful and busy months and we need a bit of down time before the days get shorter and colder. That said, we may ride the back roads to Galesburg.

    Sunday: I'm helping a buddy move his items in Rockford and so my father in law and myself will put his F150 and my box trailer to work. It will be kind of cool going back to my old stomping grounds. Since it is 3 hours one way, I can't imagine getting much done that day but any time I have left over will be spent finally cleaning up the train room.

    So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know. We'll assemble again on Monday the 9th to see how well we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

    Happy Friday - Y'all!!

    I will be finishing up my latest F7 project - SP DF-6 class. -- Both days. And, perhaps get started on the next F7 project - SP DF-7 class.

    Saturday evening - we are going to my 40th high school class reunion. Ought to be interesting. Of a class of over 400 - only 77 have registered.

    Any way -- Y'all have a spectacular and productive weekend - stay safe - stay cool,
    Wolf

    Will continue to build benchwork components for my new N Scale road. Everything's coming along pretty well. I enjoy the engineering and design aspects as much as the woodworking. I can't think of another hobby like ours that incorporates so many interests, including design, woodworking, electrical, mechanical, art, history, computers, photography and many others I've no doubt overlooked.

    Ready for the weekend for sure! It's been a long week.

    Saturday, work on a little scenery and clean up the train room. Then, have errands to run with the wife.

    Sunday, I have a few rolling stock upgrades and updates I have been pondering for a while. Plan of spending most of Sunday going through and pulling out a bunch of cars to work on and separate them into groups by what they need, then dive in and get started. I'm thinking painting and decaling will be first while the weather is still warm.

    Here's hoping you all have a great weekend!!!!!!

    With school now started (!) we are settling back in to the fall routines. Saturday will likely be house projects and yard work on the shoulders - its still August in Mississippi after all! Sunday (and tonight if I can get some time) will be railroad room time. I have scenery plans in place, new rolling stock to check and lightly weather, and something like 3000,789,098,286 projects stacked up on the workbench.

    Well, this weekend started with a bang and a trip to Orthopedic Surgeon's office after my wife tripped and fell in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Doing stuff without a right thumb to use is difficult at best.

    Hope to paint a 40' boxcar kit that I finished during the week and then decal it and an Express Reefer that I painted this week. On Saturday will go to the club and run trains. I will be finishing up a C-424 by putting all the painted and decaled parts back together again and adding some final details. Need to finish up a NYC GP35 when I get a chance.

    Will be looking over some kits to see what new car I can do during the week.

    Good morning all,

    Plan to try another technique to get some resistor axles working, have not had much luck with what I have been trying so far. May also get around to working on another batch of Atlas line poles. If I have time I also want to try yet another track plan on my tempoary east end turn around loop / staging yard. This should all keep me entertained for the weekend.

    Hope you all have a great weekend whatever to end up doing.

    Greetings all.

    Saturday time will be split between modeling and installing a Ring security camera at the back of our home. Modeling will be working on the CV bridge kit. I purchased a mini-electric mitre saw so I can get a precise and square angle on my cuts of each beam.

    Sunday will be more bridge work and any other train related item that suits my fancy as it were.

    Have a great weekend!

    I was searching Shapeways yesterday, for a diesel I could chop the cab from for an HOn30 project. Did not see anything useful. :( Too many non-North American styles.

    I probably should order more truck frames in that same scale. Only have a few left. Might add a couple of details to a caboose. And will see where things progress from there.

    I certainly hope the injured recover soon. Seems like projects are boiling along according to the above posts. Right now I have a number of components done for the bungalow. List: roof, windows and doors in all four sides, front and back steps. I plan to keep moving forward. Saturday is chore day. So maybe more done Sunday. All have a great weekend and be safe. :)

    My weekend started two years ago! Tomorrow marks the second anniversary of retirement.

    Friday;
    Today my wife and I spent a couple hours helping the local petfood pantry get ready for monthly Pantry Day which is tomorrow. After that we ran errands, so the weekend is free. I picked up a bottle of Weldbond and some mending plates for use on the layout.

    After my pre-senior nap, I plan on installing some granary windows. While they dry I'm going to finally finish the rip cut bisecting the door the layout is built on.

    After dinner I'll glue in some more windows then work on the filler pieces for the rip cuts. (I know this sounds the same as last weekends plans). I'm not sure I have the material I need.

    SATURDAY ;
    Spend a couple hours on the cluster inside my garage, sharpen mower blade, mow and trim.
    Start on granary roofs. Thinking about some minor changes to the roof over the silo conveyors.

    SUNDAY;
    Figure out/plan addition to layout so it will fill the length of the approximately 8' inglenook in our parlor that predates railroads.

    Hope everyone has a safe and productive weekend!

    The Great Midwest Train Show is back after the lockdown/coronavirus hiatus, so that's probably the big event for me this weekend. Billed as the largest monthly train show, it happens every month at the Dupage County Fairgrounds. I'm very excited to have the train shows back, and I'll probably pick up a few things before school starts. It will be interesting to see who the vendors are and what they are selling. In the past, it seemed like the same old stuff most of the time; maybe after a year or two off, we will have some new pickings.

    Slap me silly and call me Ned. I was '71, not '81. My bad. Dang age and math. Happy 40th nonetheless!

    Oh my gosh, you guys are young. How about June 1958, holy cow I don't have enough fingers and toes to compute the time, I'll need my calculator for that. Sheesh 63 years ago. On top of that I will turn 81 0n 08/15, not too far away.

    However, train wise I will continue on my AC-9 bash job.

    Ya'll be safe, well,
    Carl

    We were on vacation this week and returned home yesterday. Now we’re having a yard sale today and tomorrow.

    I don’t expect to get much accomplished this weekend, but I would like to get the rest of the track in place at the chemical plant and start getting the stone arch bridge set to proper grade.

    We start back to school in two weeks and while I handle IT for the high school, I'm always looking to bring in students from a variety of interest to engage and participate in achieving a project. I'm kicking around the idea of a WWII tribute layout for Veteran's Day or more likely for a year long project. The other idea might be a Mars habitation layout, but both are for the reasons you mentioned. We'll see if I can find dedicated space to make it happen.
