Some days ago I bought my christmas present ;-): a compact camera with focus bracketing option to create images with "endless" depth of field: Canon G7X Mark lll.

    Focal length 24mm equivalent

    Focal length...

    And finally 100mm equivalent

The stacking process was done with Digital Photo Professional 4 from Canon. 16 to 36 frames where used for the final results

Beautiful work!! Love the scenery and all of it.

Can you post any info on how you are throwing your turnouts? I'm guessing the round knobs are part of that.

Love the trackwork in this shot. Are those turnouts thrown at the turnout?

    Thanks,

    Sumner

Thanks. Showed the wife the pictures and she asked if my layout was going to look like that. I said "I wish it would someday but at my age that is just a dream".

Told her about the camera and she wants one. Been looking for a better camera to take on trips and such but that one is probably more than we need. Looks great though and the process of getting the depth of field is amazing. Cameras have come a long ways since I bought my first Nikon digital for about $400 in the early 90's,

Since January 2020 I did not participate at any of the sparse FREMO meetings. But there is hope for a participation at a FREMO meeting at the end of October. So I took Manauakee from the basement in my flat and did some cosmetic improvements: painting the sidewalls in our americaN standard color:

Meanwhile I recognized a "critical" problem in Manaukee: it´s not possible to turn a locomotive to leave Manaukee in the correct orientation. So the back to the "drawing board". The result is a wye extension:

In the next days the wood parts for the segments will arrive, everything else I need is in storage. So I hope to add some more posts in the next weeks.

Welcome back. I'm just getting interested in N gauge as my HO gauge is just too big for an apartment. I've added a link to that magazine and see if I would like it. I have seen another one lately. But, it leans heavily on new/modern stuff and large steam.

Bill, thanks for your compliment. But I also have to thank you very much, because the articles about your Kingsbury Branch more than 20 years ago supported my decision to start US model railroading in N Scale. So you are a little bit guilty that FREMO americaN was launched in 2002.

For realistic operation we need some signs. Manaukee always needs yard limit signs, but far away on other modules. For years we used pinboard needles that look like flags, which were clamped between modules. Now I build this pair: a tin solder blob, brass H profile and printouts of the signs on self adhesive paper glued on thin styrene. Some color, ground foam et voilà...
