This started out as a Trix PRR K4 Pacific. Then it received the SP treatment, gaining bits and pieces from Model Power, Atlas Rivarossi and Kato as well as other detail parts from various sources.

Good morning from sunny and mild Northeast Ohio!

Finished a couple of cars this week:

Old McKean kit where I removed the cast underframe and replaced it with a Details West Hydrocushion underframe along with Moloco Extended coupler pockets, and A-Line sill steps. Painted with Scalecoat II Armour Yellow, Boxcar Red and Silver Paints then lettered with Mask Island Decals. Car was in service for the Campbell's Soup Plant in Napoleon, Ohio and then to locations across the country.

Atlas 23,500 Gal Tank Car Kit, removed the Accubreak Couplers and fitted Kadee Shelf Couplers per the prototype. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Black paint and lettered with Highball Graphics Decals. MacIntyre Fuels was located in Vermont and service the New England and New York areas with heating oil and diesel fuel via trucks and tank cars.

Last Saturday I took my New Haven C-425 and U-25B to the club with a general freight train for operating.

    Thanks for looking!

Mr. Straw, you have outdone yourself. The ground is shaking as I view this post! I am awarding you an "air trophy" in recognition of this and past efforts. :D This trophy likely will not impress you much but will save me a small fortune. Keep up the good work.

My Labor Day weekend serendipitous flea market purchases:

    IMGP4173.JPG

The MKT car was an unassembled kit. Both were correctly weighted and Kadees installed. I like the slight wear/fading of the white paint on the Santa Fe car. Both are Athearn.

For most of us, that's heaven (Exhibit A - above photo)...:D

@gmorider Air trophies have the great feature of not taking up any more room on the workbench...

These new Accurail two bay covered hoppers are FANTASTIC. I built the MR&T kit in just a little over an hour.

These are from the predisessor of the current 'Grey and Grandure 20XX'. All less than 30 seconds there are two 'similar' vids of the 'Eastern End' and one of the 'Western End'. Hmm, Argh, just realized they are mis-named.
The picture visible in the Eastern End is of Boston and was a test. Expect to see more in the new G and G.

All comments, Positive, *constructive* and humoress are invited.
You might notice the extensive use of 'K-cup' boxes. There were just about the perfect height and structurally quite sound. Beyond that they would be easy to cut down when I was ready to replace them with 'concrete / steel' or Mystrium type supports. The new layout may also feature these short term structures.

Here we have a train cresting the summit. Lead by GP38-2s 1996 and 2006, from Athearn, followed by Accurail MR&T covered hoppers, a boxcar and a two bay covered hopper, with Athearn MR&T 70 bringing up the markers.

At the moment, I have no plans to be on one of them. Access to my layout plays a factor in that.

I played around with some of the completed or almost completed structures to set up a test scene using my newly acquired SEPTA buses from Rapido and an Amtrak GG1 from Bachmann. Here are some photos of my experimenting.
