I've had Stony's brass shell and L.G.Thek's power unit for-everrrr. I used a engraving bit in my dremel to open up the windows, cut down an N scale horn and added some etched parts and a Marklin bell. The handrails are Z-makers SW-1200's. DCCed with an ESU Nano, directional LED lighting. All while listening to Johnny Cash sing "One Piece at a Time".
I like it a lot. Particularly the paint job. The photos make me curious after your layout as well, could you share more pictures? Matt
Vern, Why does your layout look so familiar? Great details on the loco and layout. Would you be willing to post more photos of your layout? John
Thanks, everyone. Rob K. ran a story on it in the May-June 2004 issue of Z-track while still in summer scenery. It was also in the Oct. 2016 issue of Model Railroader. Lou Sassi shot the photos, I wrote the article. Give me a couple of days, I'll round up some pics.
