Good Morning from cloudy, cool and rainy Northeast Ohio!

    This weeks completed work!

Eastern Car Works Airslide covered hopper kit, added the airline under the side sill and lines from the air reservoir to the ABD valve. Car was painted with Scalecoat II MOW Gray paint and lettered with Oddballs decals. ART purchased 50 airslides in 1963 and I wonder if it was because the Wabash was going to be absorbed by the N&W in late 64, as of 1973 there were only 10 left in LOAX paint and the others probably went to the MP or N&W.

Branchline trains 50' Plug Door car, painted with Scalecoat IiI Boxcar Red paint and lettered with Herald King Decals. This group of cars were from the ACL and were in assigned service to various customers with different load securing devices.

Finished a couple of more 40' trailers using the old Athearn bluebox kit, for the DT&I trailer I removed the gusset at the landing gear and the grabs and inspection doors on the nose to somewhat model a Lufkin Trailer. Painted with Scalecoat II Reefer White and lettered with Highball Graphics decals. Trailers were acquired in the late 80's to go with the Railblazer service between Detroit and Cincinnati.

The Andersons trailer was one I used to see delivering products from the now defunct Andersons General Store to its satellite stores in Toledo and Columbus. Painted with my mixture for the Andersons covered hoppers and lettered with Herald King and Microscale decals.

    Thanks for looking!

A trio of locomotives pulling a west bound TOFC train through the Palisade Canyon in northern Nevada. The imperfections in photo backdrop could be explained as being dust devils.

In response to a request from a friend, I grabbed a quick video of the current progress on my N-scale Housatonic RR layout. One thing is for sure, my cinematography skills leave a lot to be desired. ;)
This follows a train coming from staging, past Onyx Specialty Papers, in Lee, MA, past Sheffield Plastics, through Canaan, CT, Cornwall Bridge, New Milford, across the Housatonic River, and into Brookfield. The video ends crossing the fictional "Letourneau Gorge," inspired by and named after a real friend in Montreal. There is still a lot of work to do, but the progress has been steady.

Greetings Whenever / Wherevery and Whoever you are on a wondrous cloudy raw New England day leading into a wet, rainy and raw weekend.
This week I finished the design of my 'Bungalow(ish)' house. The goal was to design something with straight easy to cut and fold lines - and - to make a 'How I Did It' video.

Details for above: Flag stone patio, stone wall, 'green' grass, scale, (1 segment =2 feet)
The model measures about 2.5" x 3.5"s, (give or take).
The video for 'How I Did It':

I call it that because this is only my 2nd cardstock structure and I'm sure there is a lot to to learn.

Winter's a-comin'! Rousing the rotary from its summer slumber, the shop team is looking out for problems:

    IMGP4177A.JPG

Athearn rotary, with motorized slicer-and-dicer blades (going at a blur, since this was a slow shutter speed with a high f-ratio).

Ever since I was a kid, i wanted one of those...:)

Go covered hoppers! Great projects here. I am a little "spooked". Cardstock has been my go to stuff for some years now. As I mentioned some time ago, I have a few N-scale structures in storage from back in the N-scale day.

Boy, did I ever see lots of these coming through my area 1942-1945. Of course they were led by NYC Js and Ks. Though they'd been handed over from the AT&SF in Chicago, St. Louis, or other convenient interchanges.

    Lovely model Russell, thanks.

No model train photos this week. Surveyors, civil engineers and contractors have made a mess of the once flat and pristine landscape.

Great pictures of your efforts everyone.
Below is the QA&P 746, and likely the final SD40T-2 to be lettered for the QA&P. The used locomotive market made getting these a better choice for the outfit. Hey, rule 1 right.
Here it is fresh out of the shops.
    DSC01066.JPG
Now to get some weathering done and out into service.
    Thanks for stopping by.

Atlas VO-1000 passing the mansion Um, I forgot the mansion windows and doors. Still working on that project too. I need to add the WS paint crew i bought to the house. See what it looks like. I've had it for weeks.

I did it again with another long train. This time it was 32 cars with a couple of Atlas RS-3’s. They handled the train with little effort. I did not hear them straining at all.
