And why would I want an early clunky detailed caboose for that price when I could get a much nicer MT caboose with better details or better yet even cheaper by a few bucks a nice Kato Japanese style caboose with working directional marker lights.
Once again someone did not check what they submitted. It is a nice looking caboose, might even worth a very few dollars perhaps. But it won't pass well as an 0-6-0.....

If we were to get down on our knees and beg for a miracle, we'd wear out countless pairs of jeans and achieve no results. That garbage will plague us until the next ice age, and much longer.
2 I found mine in the closet of an apartment we were moving into several years ago. Almost threw it away but kept it to get a laugh every once in a while. Joe
I got one of the "outstanding" SP diesels as part of a package deal. Also kept for humor factor. I also got one of the SP gondolas with canisters, again as part of a group buy. The canisters were repurposed to my HO Scale (what?!?) switching layout and the gondola was repurposed to the landfill.
This guy has dreams. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Kato-Amtra...=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
This guy too, with a $3 Bachmann model priced at $29.99 plus Shipping. It's bargain priced in comparison to another posting by the same guy at $32.48 plus shipping for this one.
It looks like the guy is in Japan. Anything modeled after a US prototype, new or used, is more expensive here than it is in the US. But only up to another $50-$100 or so tops. I only buy US stuff here, even from the Kato store in Tokyo, if I think I’ll break even when I include shipping costs and/or I know it’s out of production. So it isn’t crazy for it to be more expensive-just not this expensive. I don’t even think it should be this much if he’s trying to cover all the taxes and shipping costs from out of here. Even so, it’s a $100 loco and a $100 set of cars all day long. Not $600. Even imported stuff can be had for much cheaper. I know when I import a set from Japan in Tomix or Kato I’m going to pay a bit more for it, but I won’t pay a 300% markup on anything. That is the reason I still don’t have any Bombardier coaches for my NMRR train or the Evangelion Shinkansen.

I should have kept all of these I owned from fifty years ago. I could have sold them and retired, long before now.
I recognize that green paint- It is actually a Southern Pacific F47 R unit! They were originally built in Antarctica for the New York Central.
All, Here's another one ..not quite ebay Possibly worth a mention please see the 5 photos . The sale $ is OutLandish , if you " the seller " Insists! Well, OK! I say Heaven help this person. Tom
$1,234,567 is not the sale price, he's selling the cars individually and lists the prices in the ad. I don't know what the reasoning for that is, but I see that sort of thing all the time on Facebook marketplace.
OK, this IS off topic... but I couldn't resist this illustration that it's not just trains. https://www.ebay.com/itm/154484238353 It looks like a pink nightmare! No, wait... https://www.ebay.com/itm/164801602905
