Over "on another network" I shared a page from the 1968 Sears "Wish Book."* https://christmas.musetechnical.com/ShowCatalogPage/1968-Sears-Christmas-Book/0515 An Aurora train set was priced at $24.99. It was noted that this amount was probably a quarter of a typical weekly paycheck then. That sent me to the Inflation Calculator: $24.95 in 1968 is equivalent to $198.62 in 2021. Hey, I broke the code for how some sellers figure out prices *I hope this doesn't violate the "Policy on Discussing Retailers"
Well, I guess it is time to re-list my South Dakota ocean front property. If people are foolish enough to pay such prices for el cheapo fad toys, surely they'll cough up millions for my land.
I will admit to paying a bit over list price (but sheesh, not 50x!) for the two Funko Pop "Figment" figures. My wife's all time favorite Disney character. Despite my affection for "A Christmas Story" I will stay with the autographed books that were the basis for the film. Most of you know that Jean Shepherd is my favorite author. He is the narrator of the film and also appears in the "Santa at Higbee's" scene: "The line ends here! It starts over there!"
This just in... another nail in the eBay coffin, perhaps? The requirement of internet payment applications to report receipts to the IRS could be reduced from $20,000 to $600, with no minimum transaction threshold... wow, that's only about 20 High Speed Locomotives... https://grow.acorns.com/paypal-venmo-tax-rule-requirements/
All - Here 's one for you. Pentrex Railroad 22 VHS Lot - Steam Engines Trains Locomotive Amtrak Conrail | eBay , How many of us still have a vcr in their possession ? Me I don't , I went from that to a DVR in 2002. Tom
I know I still have a box of railroad related VHS tapes in the garage somewhere. I enjoyed them so much in the past I just can't seem to throw them away. Heck, I'm beginning to have problems playing the DVD's that I bought of the 'must have' tapes as most computers now no longer have a dvd player in them (I have bought an external one just for this and some older software I still use). Maybe I should sell those VHS tapes now knowing what they potentially are worth.
A person is lucky to get a dollar or two for any tapes these days. I have a combo DVD/VCR player which I keep plugged in, just in case I get the urge to get out those old tapes. A person can go to most any pawn shop and buy a truck load of popular name movies on DVD for a couple dollars each at most.
The CD, the port to accept the little card from the digital camera and the USB port don't work with phone pictures on my current computer. It was meant for Windows 7/8 and got switched to 10 will I was away. I can't even scan in an image anymore. Ah the modern era. E-bay and all. Rich

Don't give up. Have someone take a look at your computer. I am thinking you just need to change some settings so those will be recognized again.
Yep, that was it, about every 20 minutes? No rewind, just fast forward. I recall too that the songs were arranged differently on tape than on the LP to minimize blank tape with no sound. I remember when my brother put an 8-Track player in Dad's Firebird and bought Blood Sweat and Tears II. We went for a drive and I thought it was the coolest thing. (The car, player and tape are long gone, but BS&T II remains as great as ever.)
This one is a replacement. When Micro***** switched it over to 10 from 7 while I wasn't home the 12 year old quit in two weeks. The local shop said there were some melted boards and most of my programs, links and data was eliminated. He nicely transferred what he could to this 'newer' one. The next time I needed some help I went on line to find a place. That guy was nice and even stopped by to pick it up the next morning and returned that evening. We live two blocks apart. Simple fix. But he also told me the machine may accept 10 it didn't work correctly with it and was mechanically an office machine that needs a mother machine. That's why so much disfunction. It needs a lazier life and I need some uncontrolled money. Got some to spare? I'm taking the cheap route now.
