Yes, this was direct from factory. As they came out of the package! Was wondering if they were Astralian cars though, since things were upside down?? Took maybe 10 minutes or so to fix. Was definitely surprised to see that!
Moose completed the 14th thru 19th disconnect log cars plus repaired two Micro-Trains log loads. One log load had the broken chain and both were missing (read broken off) pins where the pin into the log cars. Cannot finish the 20th log car because the pin that secures one of the couplers to it was broken off . Moose no know when will order replacement pins... Moose had a minor logging incident this morning whilst completing the last two log loads for the disconnect log cars. Here are the logs, waiting to be chained up: Hmmm, don't know ... Does this look like Caboose Red? Caution: Model Railroading is a dangerous sport. Don't let children under 14 years of age any where near your layout, or this could happen to them!
I wanted to hit the 'Like' button but maybe that isn't appropriate if that red is what I think it is , Sumner
Ummm, yeah, it is... Incidentally, Moose just checked the A-line brand 40 link/inch blackened chain, p/n 29219, and it appears to be ~ 46 links/inch, matching the Micro-Trains log load chains.
How do you add chain to cars?? I'm thinking my eyesight may not be good enough! Cataract surgery messed up my up close vision. But, that's what I chose. No regrets. Loaded cars look good!! What size sticks did you use?
@Keith The last two loads used ~120 foot tall, 50" diameter poplar trees whittled down to fit cars. Didn't have proper chain hooks, so glued chain to log undersides using tree sap. Ummm, you might find something better than tree sap, but it was what was on hooves at moment -- and still on hooves now, dag'nub'it.... (Editor's note: 50" n-scale = 5/16")
I believe that saying was coined by a surgeon . . . or a sturgeon. I don't know, but definitely one or the other
@Moose2013 i thought of you when I seen this at the show I was at this weekend. They even had a forest fire scene, it looks really good and realistic, and unfortunately something some of us have seen way too much of.
Did I miss a Moose being on this layout? I call foul, before Mr Mouse does. He would never let that happen!
there were moose on the layout, I just didn’t get any pictures of any. Sorry guys, it was hard enough getting these pics as this layout was pretty crowded.
Actually, Moose wasn't at the Puyallup train shown, so all of those meese that Massey may have seen were just out-of-work reindeer with moose antlers strapped to their noggin's...
Moose- Am curious about your camp cars. Don't recall if they were mentioned earlier? PS- Received my decals from PDC. They look very nice!
Oh Moose goodness, it appears that this Moose forgot to post photos of those when Moose finished building them. Will try to do so when get home... Congratulations on da decals! Bill does a good job...
