Eastbound manifest behind all CSX power nears the end of two main tracks a mile east of Gavin Yard in Minot. The old GN yard, and a company material storage area is out of frame at right.

It's amazing what it takes to put those Peco rail joiners on! (in response to Akirasho's post).

I saw a freight with these SOU gondolas go by while at the Sebring Model Railroad Club tonight but couldn't get my camera out fast enough. But it was already slowing and must have had a 5mph speed restriction because, by the time I left a short while later and drove back to Alliance (about 5 to 7 miles), the crossing gates started flashing and, lo and behold, there it was again. It was already dusk, and it was raining, but I got out of the truck so I could at least try to get the crossing gates out of the picture.[IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

This is the correct answer. I still didn't get better pictures, but I mentioned it at the train club tonight and one of our members not only knew about it, he used to be a one-fifth owner of it. It was originally a New York Central, then PC, then Conrail. It's now used as a pusher on the siding where I took the previous photo.

Negative camber from too many tons of loads such as scrap metal.

It's like an engine on E Bay , it looks OK but when you put it on the track it makes your whole layout a little bit worse. The previous owners must have hated it. I certainly don't

Starting to see more of these lease units on BNSF locals. This is the “BN Rock” Job returning from working the former Alcoa plant in Bettendorf, IA using track rights over the CP Davenport Sub.

Looks like an old GP20 with a newer hood, maybe? Weird layout for the radiator fans...:cautious:

I wonder what kind of load this thing was carrying when it was wrecked. Some yellow blob at the ruptured end.

Randy, do the white car ends indicate anything?

Maybe it means something from the carbuilder. We have a few dozen tank cars all with LPG and they are an assortment of colors, my favorites are the blue ones.
